Come see this brand new necklace inspired by Egyptian wings on show @theforgespace until the 20th Nov 2025. The process starts with carving a wing out of wax. Sand casting samples in my studio to see how they will fit together before creating a final master to have a mould made and multiple cast pieces produced. Even though they are a repeated link each piece still gets a huge amount of attention to clean it up from the cast process, finishing it before linking then soldering the entire necklace together and polishing. Fastened by a very simple hook clasp which creates a seamless necklace when closed. It was a joy to return and set up again today at @theforgespace for this month’s exhibition ‘‘Chain of Fools’ a group jewellery showcase at FORGE from 29th Oct - 20th November. This necklace started with a walk on the beach. I spotted bits of shell which looked like they might fit together nicely. I then transformed them into silver by sandcasting them. I added this necklace to my collection at the ‘Beyond the Sea’ exhibition at FORGE. There are two weeks left of the ‘Beyond the Sea’ jewellery showcase at FORGE which I have been lucky enough to take part in.
