Brooklyn Arts Ambassador Colm Dillane teamed up with Borough President Antonio Reynoso to bring NYFW inside Brooklyn Borough Hall📍
From an open call that drew hundreds, five designers were awarded $5,000 grants and mentorship to launch not just collections, but futures. The night captured Brooklyn at its best (creative, chaotic & inspiring) while giving the next wave of talent their first big runway.

Daveed Baptiste — Designer 1 of 5
Soaring High traces the metamorphosis of a Haitian immigrant boy through stages of urban Black American life. Each chapter unfolds through evolving silhouettes and African American hairstyles. Through his designs, he explores themes of migration and cultural preservation within the Haitian community and the larger Caribbean diaspora.
“From museums to galleries, this collection has toured like an exhibition — now it returns home to Brooklyn, ready to take its first steps onto the streets,” says @daveedbaptiste
