Indian Cookery at Brighton Community Kitchen ๐ซ๐ถ๏ธ
RBโs Jude and pal Jenny got educated in the most delicious way at Brighton Community Kitchen - hereโs what happened ๐
โHow many times have I walked past Brighton Community Kitchen and thought โI must do one of their cookery classes? The answer - too many - donโt be like meโฆ
We joined the Goan Curry class with Brighton chef legend Chef Kanthi - heโs produced exceptional menus in restaurants across the city, so a brilliant start to our Community Kitchen education. With ingredients laid out in front of us, in groups of 2 we got busy with the recipe under Chef Kanthiโs expert guidance. Not only did we cook along with him, Kanthi shared so much history and knowledge about the ingredients we were using and where the recipe originated - what a teacher!
Over an hour or so of cookery, and a little help and camaraderie with our kitchen neighbours, we created the most delicious Chicken Cafreal Masala, a super light curry, rice and salad - perfect for summertime.
While the team of BCK volunteers did our washing up for us (bonus!) all the hungry students got round the table and tucked into our fresh creations - and though there was the promise of leftovers - everything was devoured. We had the best time - plus we got the recipe to take home with us to recreate in our own kitchen.โ
