Indian Cookery at Brighton Community Kitchen ๐Ÿซš๐ŸŒถ๏ธ RBโ€™s Jude and pal Jenny got educated in the most delicious way at Brighton Community Kitchen - hereโ€™s what happened ๐Ÿ‘‡ โ€œHow many times have I walked past Brighton Community Kitchen and thought โ€˜I must do one of their cookery classes? The answer - too many - donโ€™t be like meโ€ฆ We joined the Goan Curry class with Brighton chef legend Chef Kanthi - heโ€™s produced exceptional menus in restaurants across the city, so a brilliant start to our Community Kitchen education. With ingredients laid out in front of us, in groups of 2 we got busy with the recipe under Chef Kanthiโ€™s expert guidance. Not only did we cook along with him, Kanthi shared so much history and knowledge about the ingredients we were using and where the recipe originated - what a teacher! Over an hour or so of cookery, and a little help and camaraderie with our kitchen neighbours, we created the most delicious Chicken Cafreal Masala, a super light curry, rice and salad - perfect for summertime. While the team of BCK volunteers did our washing up for us (bonus!) all the hungry students got round the table and tucked into our fresh creations - and though there was the promise of leftovers - everything was devoured. We had the best time - plus we got the recipe to take home with us to recreate in our own kitchen.โ€ ๐—•๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ต๐˜๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—–๐—ผ๐—บ๐—บ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ถ๐˜๐˜† ๐—ž๐—ถ๐˜๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ป ๐—ก๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—ž๐—ป๐—ผ๐˜„๐˜€: ๐Ÿณ ๐—š๐—น๐—ผ๐—ฏ๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—™๐—น๐—ฎ๐˜ƒ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐˜€ Make dim sum, Indian, Korean, Thai, patisserie & more with local chefs - check out their calendar for upcoming classes. ๐Ÿง  ๐—™๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—˜๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜†๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฒ Total beginner or pro, kids and adults - all are welcome. Your booking & cooking helps fund free classes for the community. ๐Ÿ“ ๐—•๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ต๐˜๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—›๐˜‚๐—ฏ Cool, fully kitted-out space for classes, parties & more. ๐—™๐—ข๐—Ÿ๐—Ÿ๐—ข๐—ช: @btnkitchen | @chef.kanthi #cookeryschool #communitykitchen #brightoncommunity #communitycookery #howtocookcurry #cookeryclassesbrighton

Did you know baking can be an excellent well-being activity? Itโ€™s more than just making tasty treats (although that does help) ๐Ÿง๐Ÿช Taking your time to bake in a calm and considered way, either with a friend or on your own, can be a great way to connect and be present. Think kneading or mixing calmly, creating a sense of achievement and the joy of sharing your creations. ๐Ÿ’šโญ๏ธ That's why we run our Baking for Wellbeing Classes. In todays session participants made delicious cookies, lemon and blueberry muffins and fruity crumble bars ๐Ÿ˜‹ Thank you to @sallydells for teaching this fabulous class. This class was made possible by the Community Kitchen Charity and our funders the Maximus Foundation.
