Discovering and accepting the strength in our imperfections is part of what makes us interesting. Each students’ approach to the mural workshop differed but none was wrong. That variance is captured in this vignette of a work in progress.

This is C.
He is full of life and his brushwork is laser focused.
Before we took the wall we started in the classroom exploring the principals of line, shape and color followed by a lettering workshop. We took what we learned outside and applied it directly to the wall. Each student started by painting one line or shape that would eventually become the color field foundation for this triptych mural.

Spent the last 2 weeks in Winneba, Ghana 🇬🇭 getting creative with some incredible human beings.
This is E. She is tenacious and has a innately elegant painting technique that can not be taught. We catch her work in progress on day 3 of the mural workshop lead by my superhuman, rockstar of a wife @chantelvalentene and myself. .
While some of these children are survivors of labor trafficking others are simply at-risk, but this reality hardly defines them. They are inquisitive, energetic, talented, smart, thoughtful and full of life.
This experience, enlightening (for us), empowering (for the kids - hopefully) was made possible by the passion and diligence of @beautyforfreedom and @challengingheights
