Culiacán, Sinaloa 📌
Bigger and stronger by the day.
I want to give a huge thank you to everyone who has supported and continues to support LXB. Truly none of this would be possible without you. Your guys insane support has allowed us to be in a position to do things like what your seeing us do here in an effort to help these amazing kids who are unfortunately growing up in the epicenter of one of the most violent and deadly cartel wars in history. This program is impacting so many kids life’s already in so many ways and your support for the brand is quite literally what fuels it.
As always none of this would be possible without the incredible people behind @guardiangym this is one of the only non profits in the world where 100% of the money you give goes directly to the cause your supporting. This is extremely rare in the world of non profits even among the best.
Thank you @bskovacs@calder.powers@maurojcanalep@yo_soy_bbeto for everything you do.
Meet Jeff Morris, leader of Guardian Greenwich at @greenwichjiujitsuacademy .
Across Guardian, our leaders are deeply knowledgeable. But what matters most to us is character, consistency, and a real passion for helping young people.
Outside of jiu jitsu, Jeff is a detective with the Greenwich Police Department and a former Marine. On the mats, his lack of ego has completely reshaped his program around constraints-led, ecological training, building an environment where kids can learn, problem-solve, and grow.
A lot of people in jiu jitsu obsess over medals, status, and titles. At Guardian, we are looking for something different.
We want people like Jeff.
Not cult leaders. Not necessarily world champions. In many cases, not even black belts.
Just authentic people who care deeply about the kids in their community. People willing to create a place where young people who feel unseen can be welcomed, supported, and introduced to a sport that may help redirect their lives. #jiujitsuforall
We’re excited to share the stories of the kids behind Guardian.
Their daily lives.
Their dreams.
Their love for training.
And the way jiu jitsu is shaping who they’re becoming.
Coming soon: Dan Ssenabulya from @guardianuganda_
Roughly 6 months ago we were connected with the amazing people behind @guardiangym . What began as an opportunity to send a little bit of gear down to the kids of Sinaloa quickly turned into something much more. As soon as I met the incredible and selfless people running this program and heard the story’s of these kids growing up in the epicenter of one of the most violent cartel wars in history I knew they needed more than just gear to cause a real impact. We quickly decided to not only fully outfit everybody with clothing and training gear but more importantly to fully fund the build out of two schools and their ongoing annual operational costs. A little over six months of construction later we are now close to launching the first location which includes a full @cjiofficial pit.
Thank you to @maurojcanalep head of the program and the person actually down there everyday dedicating his life to helping this community.
Thank you to @guardiangym@bskovacs@yo_soy_bbeto@calder.powers without you guys none of this would be possible. You guys have built what I believe to be one of the most directly impactful non profits I have ever seen or worked with. It’s a privilege to be able to work with you guys.
This is just the beginning.

Without @maurojcanalep nothing we are doing down in Mexico would be possible. He’s so much more to these kids and community than just a Jiu Jitsu Coach. He has dedicated his entire life to helping this community.
Thank you @maurojcanalep for all that you do. 🖤
So great to see my brother and @guardiangym co-founder @jlunenfeld back in SF today. Lots of people do well in life, but he always does it the right way
Growing up in the middle of an active cartel war is something no child should have to experience. With no signs of the violence ending anytime soon the community is extremely fortunate to have somebody like @maurojcanalep who has completely dedicated his life to helping anyone looking for an alternative to the otherwise unfortunate reality of life while growing up under these circumstances.
Without him the program we are building with @guardiangym for these incredible kids and community would truly not be possible.
Thank you @maurojcanalep for all that you do.
You are the real MVP.
🖤🏴
This is the unfortunate reality for kids growing up in the epicenter of a cartel war. Murder and violence everyday with very little to zero economic opportunity or means out. This is the world these kids were born into to no fault of their own. They have every reason in the world to give up or go a negative path yet still remain strong and hopeful in spirit.
One of our biggest missions as a brand all 2026 is to continue helping bring opportunity and hope to these incredible kids and the community of Sinaloa MX.
Stay tuned for more 🏴 x 🇲🇽
Guardian End of Year Update – Part 1
With Guardian’s operational overhead currently fully covered, 100% of every donation now goes directly to the kids and programs it’s intended for.
This marks a new chapter as we move into 2026, one where together we can continue reshaping this sport and making jiu jitsu accessible to kids who would otherwise never step on the mat.
Visit our website to donate. If you’re interested in a larger partnership and making a meaningful impact at scale, send us a message and we can explore what that could look like together.
We are truly grateful. Every supporter, big or small, has helped make this dream possible. #jiujitsuforall
