I went to see the show in 2019, right before the pandemic, and back when @melissa.castrillon won the golden Medal (bravo!). I had been thinking about applying for the @csacbi Children’s Books Illustration MA, and I was so moved by @felicita.sala ‘s art for The Hideout , @mattforsythe ‘s Poko and @carsonellis ‘ The Longest Day, I stopped doubting and just sent my application. That show made me dream about making books, and now Shine is in it. Full circle 🥲

Despite the horrors we’ve seen for the past several months –and years–, people keep sharing food, supporting people in need, and making a stand against oppressors. That’s how I see things getting better: community rising above corrupt politicians’ lies and greed.

Our second fundraiser is dedicated to three different on the ground organizations : Al-Jawad (@jawadcamp1 ), Gaza Little Lights (@gazalittlelights ), and Grassroots Gaza (@grassroots_gaza ) which are all Palestinian led initiatives that focus on supporting children and families in Gaza with direct aid. 100% of the profits of every sale will go to the organisations mentioned above. Help us reach our goal of raising as much as we can and support these vital organisations. An A4, two colour Riso print by Bruno Valasse.

I’m trying to draw from observation more often (and actually share some), and found some nice spots in the nearest park, where some trees have fallen down lately and I’ve been too slow to go draw them before they are removed, or maybe just in time before these succumb to the storms, too.

Also been catching up on @francesives ‘ patreon, which I highly recommend. She makes you want to rush and pick some materials and just make stuff. I’d missed that.
