Hot Listed restaurant @entrecotemelbourne has evolved a lot in its first 10 years. What was initially a pop-up on Domain Road enjoyed a solid run in South Yarra before moving to Prahran in 2021. Owner Jason Jones calls the venue Entrecote’s “forever home”. And it’s where he recently hosted a @broadsheetaccess readers’ lunch to celebrate the restaurant’s first decade in business and his new book documenting all the adventures along the way. Plus, not incidentally, his recent 50th birthday. At the sold-out event in Entrecote’s “Le Conservatoire” courtyard space, Access members sat at long tables and enjoyed free-flowing wine and chatter. They were treated to King Louis XIV boulette (spiced beef croquette), topinambours et Gruyere (sunchoke tartlet with Gruyere cream) and Saint-Pierre poêlé (pan-fried dory with leek fondue and beurre blanc). Then, for dessert, a classic vanilla bean crème brûlée to really round out the decadent meal. Signed copies of Jones’s new book Entrecote: Depuis 2015 were snapped up, and the publication – part memoir, part recipe book, part decadent scrapbook – was discussed passionately during a Q&A with @broadsheet_melb editorial director Katya Wachtel. This year @rising.melbourne has teamed up with @acmionline to present The Vinyl Factory: Reverb, a multi-sensory exhibition exploring vinyl and music culture. Inside you’ll find the Vinyl Factory collection (including works by Thom Yorke and Massive Attack) plus commissions from leading figures such as fashion visionary Virgil Abloh, Grammy winner Jenn Nkiru and electronic music pioneer Carsten Nicolai. The 25th Biennale of Sydney is here – titled Rememory, this year’s festival celebrates contemporary art with a focus on First Nations creatives, inviting audiences to revisit, reconstruct and reclaim overlooked histories. With their debut cookbook newly launched, cult bakery couple Hyo Ju Park and Rong Yao Soh of @madeleine_deproust hosted a pop-up afternoon tea at @yugenteabar exclusively for @broadsheetaccess . Guests sipped teas, cocktails and mocktails from the host venue before it was time for the main event: tiny French cakes presented in traditional three-tiered high tea displays. First on the menu were the savouries: a coronation chicken and pumpkin madeleine with coriander, and a cured smoked salmon and beetroot madeleine with cream cheese and chives. Next, a flight of mini madeleines with eclectic flavours: yuzu, pandan and coconut, choc banana, Earl Grey Dulcey and truffle cheesecake. The dainty cake extravaganza rounded off with classic madeleines served with strawberry jam and fresh cream, plus a final showstopping Pink Carnation madeleine incorporating citrus cake, yuzu lemon ganache, black tea buttercream and white chocolate. A handful of lucky @broadsheetaccess  members recently found their flow at a fun wellness afternoon hosted by Fitzroy’s @rodes.studio . Guests were welcomed to the compact-yet-airy Pilates and yoga studio with a warming cup of @nontoxteatm , before a getting down to business with a flowy, feelgood Vinyasa class from Jaari Heyes that paired dynamic movements with intentional breath. Next there was even more focus on deep inhales and exhales, with a guided breathwork session from Madeline Laura that invited attendees to lie back, close their eyes and get mindful while moving air through their bodies. Post-workout, guests tucked into top-tier hot cross buns and received complimentary gift bags with wellness goodies from Non Tox Tea and @healthlab . It was a great way to take time out from the regular rush and reset mind and body (before tucking into some well-deserved carbs).
