The @broadrunoffroad Spring Bloom 15hr AR in Fredericksburg VA was one of those alternative fun types of days in the woods. I joined @kad.ventures and @bethymetry for Women of AR’s first race of the year together as a team. Extremely low water levels made for a physical first half of the race, hopping in and out of the canoes often to drag them over rocks and low spots. The bike leg was almost entirely on singletrack and a fun, twisty ride, with some wet roots for added spice. It was good to get back in the maps on a course that wasn’t clearable for anyone and required some strategy pivots throughout the day. It was such a pleasure racing with Karyn and Beth, persevering through a pretty challenging day together. Lots of transitions in and out of boats that we made quick work of too. Highlights of the day for me were certainly all the wildlife we saw, including eagles, salamanders, turtles, cormorants, and osprey. A river-heavy course certainly has its advantages if you’re animal lovers like us! Catch the Women of AR later this month at @adventureaddictsracing Brake the Habit. 🎤 Is this thing still on?? A day late and a dollar short for some MidSouth goodness, but socials took a backseat while life required more focus the last couple months. I’m finding my groove again now, and social media time is a construct anyway… The @midsouthgravel was the weird, wonderful vibe we know and love it to be. With the addition of separate Pro fields on Friday, I got to pin it early then really enjoy the weekend. I had the pleasure of having a D&C the week prior because my uterus is a bit defective, so all bets were off as to how I would feel on race day. This will be the final stop gap for me before an off-season hysterectomy in the next year or two if I want to keep racing, so I wanted to get it out of the way before the year really got underway. After tailgunning the lead group HARD for the first 10 miles, I rolled off the back and eventually joined forces with former Shadow teammie @beccabook . A few miles later, we picked up @softlyspinning too. The three of us rolled the next 90+ miles together, trading pulls and keeping each other honest. It was such a treat to spend the day with them and even hit a 3-up sprint at the finish. I was happy to have blown out the cobwebs in the first big event after the longest winter of my life 😂 I’m grateful to have gotten to spend MidSouth with the incredible @salsacycles crew, catching up with good friends and getting to know the new folks. If you’ve slept since then, Salsa officially debuted the Flyway platform, and having spent a couple few thousand miles on it, I can attest that Salsa continues to raise the bar with their design and innovation. I absolutely love the Flyway and where it has taken me thus far.

So this is (almost) 40, eh? It’s difficult to articulate how challenging the last couple seasons of this niner year have been. Heartbreak, some health/injury challenges, and big life changes have made for an interesting pre-season to say the least, and at times, training has taken a backseat or been derailed completely. It’s also reinforced that there are some beautiful people in my life, and it’s ok to lean on others when everything feels a bit overwhelming. Today, I get to line up for the first women only start of @midsouthgravel on the freshly dropped @salsacycles Flyway. Salsa has really outdone itself with its latest gravel platform, and I’m stoked to finally share it with y’all. I’d be lying if I said I felt ready for this one, but what a privilege it is to play bike games on a perfect day! We made it to Stillwater, and I’m here for it. Spring is right around the corner, and I’m looking forward to what the next four seasons will bring. 40 just might be the best year yet ⚡️

Traveling to Iceland last year for @theriftmtbiceland with Gordon was such a powerful trip, I knew I wanted to go back. Life on two wheels has been the catalyst for creating so many incredible memories this past year. Bikes have also been the through line with the people I hold near and dear to my heart. I am over the moon to continue my relationship with @salsacycles for another year! Their values and #adventurebybike ethos align so well with me, and it has been a privilege to be part of the rad bikes Salsa has been developing. I love the direction they are headed, and I can’t wait to see what’s around the bend. While the outcomes and podiums are great, they are fleeting, and it’s often the shared experience and connections that foster lasting memories. Diving back into adventure racing has reconnected me with the incredible folks that make up its community, and it’s like I never left. I’ve got some good things in the works for 2026, both individually and with a variety of teams. Expect to see me racing in some of my favorite places and in some new ones that I’ve had my eye on for awhile. Stay spicy y’all 🌶️

When I set out as a privateer a few years ago, @theblackbibs_stratton was one of the first folks to offer support. I’ve been rolling in The Black Bibs and Starlight kit since. Salsa wanted to create a custom kit for the Flyway soft launch, and Starlight produced a rad jersey for us that highlights the Flyway’s subtle details.
