More gay party stuff! I swear there’s powerlifting in this book, but what’s college without parties??👀💖

Tis the season🎃I’ve had this idea about a chosen family of witches ft an overworked voodoo doctor, an overly adventurous bruja, and a baby goth preteen. They travel around in their RV unintentionally wreaking havoc wherever they go. Still trying to figure out exactly what I want this to be (story and design wise) but I like where it’s headed and I like these weirdos!

Meet Casey “Case” Calhoun, a nervous baby butch from my upcoming graphic novel Personal Record🏳️‍🌈! Case only wants to be left alone to game, but life as a college freshmen requires a terrifying amount of social interactions. Hands down my fav thing about making comics is the freedom to draw all kinds of silly expressions!

Meet Fernanda Montoya from my upcoming YA OGN Personal Record! A cute slice of life powerlifting romantic comedy (whatever that stew of words means) you get the idea. Drawing hair, especially any kind of braid pattern is very soothing😌

This is so weird. I’ve been working on this comic in my own little world, and it’s surreal to think it’ll be out in the world soon🤯 Think of it as a BIPOC sapphic slice of life with emotional confusion, parental drama, queer sorority parties, make outs in the back of a 1979 Monte Carlo, and GAINS! This book was made possible with the guidance of my amazing agent @comicsispeople @inkwellmgmt and my wonderful editor @samiagarciafakih @01firstsecond More soon!✨💪🏾

Welcome to another installment of our series, “Publishing Pundits,” done in collaboration with Publishizer (@publishizer ), where we invite publishing industry professionals to answer common publishing questions. 📚 We’re excited to welcome Brittney Williams (@BrittWillDraw ), a talented comic book writer and artist known for bringing characters to life through her vibrant illustrations. ✍️🎨 Today, we ask Brittney about her process of transforming a character from written words to a visual depiction. She shares that she first lets the story live in her imagination, considering every aspect of the character. After a few days, once she has clarity, she begins sketching ideas, and everything starts to flow naturally. Brittney emphasizes the importance of patience and vision in her creative process. Want to see how she brings characters to life? Watch the full reel for more! 👀✨ [📝 Outreach by Cara Broel (@thebabybookworm ) | 📹 Video by Michelle Krieger (@mkrieger917 )] . . . . #publishingpundits #comicbookartist #storytelling #characterdesign #visualstorytelling #publishingindustry
