When it ends in mid-March the post fashion month reality comedown can hit hard , leaving us wanting more but knowing it’s another six months until we get our next fix of stellar collections and next level street style. A small Scottish city is providing the antidote to that fashion vacuum with @vadundee latest exhibition “Catwalk : The Art of the Fashion Show” taking us on an immersive and occasionally subversive journey through 100 years of runway history. I had the absolute pleasure of covering the event for @_original_magazine and speaking to a number of the exhibitions ambassadors who attended. Arashi Yanagawa the Creative Director of seminal Japanese brand @johnlawrencesullivan_official is someone I’ve been wanting to interview for a long time so when I got the opportunity to speak to him for the latest print edition of @flanellemagazine it was a special moment. Founded by Arashi in 2003 the brand is renowned for its subversive suiting and streetwear. It’s a brand that remains both in the know and under the radar, possessing an ever-evolving aesthetic that’s defined by stunning silhouettes and beautifully constructed garments made from premium materials. Part of the brands undeniable mystique comes from Arashi himself who was a professional boxer before eschewing the boxing ring canvas for the creative canvas of the fashion designer. Last Wednesday’s “Catwalk -The Art of the Fashion Show” opening event @vadundee was a fabulous, immersive and inspiring event. Huge congratulations to all at the V&A for bringing such an incredible exhibition to Dundee and for such a spectacularly glamorous evening. Many thanks to the V&A for inviting the wonderful @natalyabenzz and me. We went with my friend @carolinesstylehacks and her son Lewis , and lovely to see so many other friends there. In my second A/W 26 interview for @flanellemagazine with British Fashion Council NEWGEN designers I had the absolute pleasure of speaking with @marie.lueder Having shown a retrospective of selected pieces from previous collections at the start of February during Berlin Fashion Week , she unveiled her A/W 26 collection towards the end of the month at London Fashion Week. A collection that married the designers trademark precision pattern cutting with her signature subversive sensibility , it provided a captivating end to an incredibly productive month for the London-based German designer. Hordes of the fashionably inclined descended on East London’s Protein Studios during London Fashion Week to attend the bi-annual “Ones to Watch” show where creative incubator @fashionscout carefully curates a cohort of emerging global designers to showcase their creations. For A/W26 they presented another exciting cadre including @__maldonado__a whose collection “Arthropoda” melded the avant garde with modern couture to gift us an impressive assemblage of pieces where structural silhouettes met geometric gorgeousness and texture met tactility. @avessomagazine spoke to the designer the day after the show and you can read our interview via the link in my bio. In the first of Flanelle’s LFW A/W26 interviews I had the immense pleasure of speaking to @yaku.____ , one of the BFC’s NEWGEN cohort. His latest collection “Chapter 7 “Evolution of Combat” references an amalgam of influences including Afrofuturism , computer role playing games , martial arts and seminal Samurai movie “Harakiri” In many ways Yaku’s work serves as a cultural conduit for candid conversations that need to be had. Sunday was my final day @londonfashionweek , very chilled , a gorgeous breakfast event with @i.deapr @ @fashionscout and a couple of shows plus a visit to the @designmuseum for the Blitz club exhibition where some of the looks from 1980 would have been equally at home on the LFW 2026 attendees.
