Original’s May ‘26 digital cover featuring Singer-Songwriter @chelseajordan 🖤 There is a calmness to Chelsea’s approach. On an EP such as this, every song feels impactful yet comforting. “Halfwaythru” is a fun and playful ode to an extrovert, inspired a trip to London with her writing partner, Jamie Gelman. She balances quietly heartbreaking lines like “the parts you fell in love with now you just put up with” with charming lines of “I love a cheeky glass of wine and cigarette”. “This was the first song I wrote where I was like, this is who I am either love it or you leave it,” she says. It marks the turning point where we see Chelsea start to own herself and reclaim some of what has been dismissed by her partner’s lens. In the end, Jordan’s process is instinctive. Original’s April 2026 Digital Cover: featuring @sianwelby 🖤 Leading with Laughter: What it Means to Show Up For Yourself With a Smile Lasting careers aren’t built overnight, progress is hard, and the entertainment industry isn’t a place of free passes. Siân Welby can attest to this: a fixture of British culture for over a decade, she knows firsthand the hard work it takes to make it and the often harder work it takes to stay there. Through all trials and tribulations, it’s been Siân’s determined pragmatism and unshakeable humour that have cleared the path to and through success. Original’s March 2026 Digital Cover: Featuring @codyfrostmusic 🖤 There’s a particular calm in artists who refuse easy closures. Cody Frost speaks like that: pragmatic about process, stubborn about craft, and quietly fierce about what she refuses to leave unsaid. The songs on their new EP Mechaeval arrived out of that patience — half-recorded bedroom vocals, rescued demos, and the deliberate decision to release a track only when it felt honest enough to stand in public. “I had such an affinity to that song that I didn’t want to not release it,” they say of Connect, a song written earlier but withheld until it could be realised properly. There’s a braided quality to Cody’s creativity; sound and visuals building the fabric of their life. They used to split their days tattooing and writing — a grind of minimum-wage shifts interrupted by the rare, furious focus of a chorus. Now, signed and with time to write, they treat their moments of isolation as a place to research. To read. To feel the world and fold it into a tune. The Original team recently sat down with Singer and Songwriter @girlimusic 🖤 Interview & Words By: @bumblephii | @beesbrainlibrary “I wanted to take a word…that previously represented the idea of femininity as something that was silly or embarrassing and use it as an empowering thing.” - @girlimusic 🖤 Propping up alt-pop artist girli is Milly Toomey, who began by performing at open-mic nights for minimal audiences: one person, two if she was lucky. girli has been a fixture of the UK’s indie-pop scene since the 2010s. She’s known for the sapphic-regency opulence of her last album “Matriarchy”, but girli is looking to strip back in her third release “it’s just my opinion.” Full interview feature can be found on our newly refurbished website via the link in our bio 📸 #musician #music #art #interview #original

Kicking off May ‘26 with our digi cover featuring Musician @chelseajordan 🖤 Interview & Words By: @evieseren As women, we spend a great deal of our lives confined to the lens of others, often the male gaze. Men become the prism through which we view ourselves. In a world of technology, this gaze has extended itself further. The integration of AI is a topic that feels growingly relevant; Jordan herself suffered an incident recently where her Spotify was hacked and her voice appropriated to create songs she had no part in. “I felt violated and I felt like there was nothing to be done,” she says. “Somebody has hacked my account and is using my face. My voice. Releasing music under my name. It’s like, how is that not illegal yet?”. With this new wave of technology, we are witnessing a whole new way to victimise. In Conversation with @willbrownsworld 🖤🔥 Interview & Images By: @evieseren Will Brown is an artist who offers a perspective rather foreign to British audiences, having been born and raised in Kansas by a preacher, attending church every week and singing in his choir. It is undeniable that the impact the church and God have had on Will’s life and music. His voice drips with the gospel grounding of his youth; it carries soul and body in a way that sounds undeniably divine. “Welcome to Brownsville” All of us experience times in our lives that bring us out, put the world in focus, our lives in context. They are times in which we examine what we are doing and why. This came at a surprising time for Will. “What really struck me was after I bought my house, I just got to a really low moment in my life, and I realised it’s not working for me any more. I was masking, and I got sick of being somebody who I wasn’t, and I felt like I was giving up on my dream. I always felt like defeat was never an option. And that’s when I said, “No, I’m leaving Kansas City.” It was that moment. It was at my lowest moment.” Agency: @edgeent #interview #music #artist #original #magazine

“When it ends in mid- March the post Fashion Month reality comedown can hit hard, leaving us wanting more but knowing it’s another six months until we get our next fix of stellar collections and next level street style. It offers a rare opportunity to journey through 100 years of catwalk history exploring the cultural significance of the fashion show from early 20th century Parisian salons to today’s global live streamed extravaganzas. Bringing together original collection pieces, film and photographic material and other memorabilia it charts iconic moments from those 100 years.“ @vadundee ’s latest exhibition: Catwalk: The Art of the Fashion Show is now open to the public Full review 🔗 in bio Words by: Brian James #vandamuseum #dundee #fashion #catwalk #originalmagazine

@zoeblackcoffee @queer.confused : In its setting, the film becomes acknowledgement and celebration of queer presence within history. “Because queer people have always existed. Trans people have always existed.” At the same time, the emotional beats are highly personal, drawing on Zoe Black’s own experiences. “On one level, I knew that my friends were probably going to be supportive of me being non-binary,” they explain. “But I still had this fear of how it might shift their perceptions of me.” Progress has certainly been made since the 1980s, but in the current political climate trans rights and lives are still actively threatened and minimised into talking points in manufactured culture wars Words & Interview by: @carolinafb__ Full interview 🔗 in bio Team Credits: Writer/Director: Zoe Black Producer: Michalina Cieplinska Director of Photography: Eden Sandy Editor: Rebecca Parker Quinn Production Designer: Ayesha Linton-Whittle 1st Assistant Director: Felicitas Fuchs Costume Designer: Dorian Angus-Card Wardrobe Assistant: Mia Seldrup Hair & Makeup Designer: Cha Chabrat Art Department Assistant: Emma Janovcova 1st Assistant Camera: Prachi Chandna 2nd Assistant Camera: Mania Khosravilargani Gaffer: Nitin Rohra Spark: Stefania Mohottige Sound Recordist: George Willetts Sound Designer: Liam Eshghi-Luck Colourist: Michael Pearce Runner: Daisy Murphy Runner/Driver: Jacob Black #art #queer #bfiflare #creative #originalmagazine

@vaughanmurrae Falling Into Fame: The New Chaos of Malcolm in the Middle On set, that continuity was impossible to ignore. “They slipped back into it so effortlessly,” Murrae says of the original cast. “It was like no time had passed at all.” For audiences, that familiarity will feel deeply nostalgic. For Murrae, it was something else entirely: an initiation into a family that existed long before they arrived. Through this experience, they embraced the challenge of comedy with a fearless creative energy, helping to shape the kind of unspoken representation they hope will one day become the norm.
