much to our chagrin, weāre back in the studio fussing over bits and bobs. this saturday, april 25, weāll be at montgomery college at @930kingstreet with some mighty fine artists. for once, the universe has quit acting like a dumb bitch. lifeās good.
Infinity Knives and Brian Ennals embody this ethos of cutting through pretence with their raw, unfiltered creativity and incisive commentary. Known for their boundary-pushing DIY approach, the duo has achieved a cult-level following in experimental hip-hop, blending chaotic, genre-defying production with unapologetic social critique and dark humour.

MON 4 MAY: INFINITY KNIVES & BRIAN ENNALS
Baltimore, MD-based hip-hop experimentalists Infinity Knives and Brian Ennals' music is a masterfully executed expression of ferocity and joy, that doesnāt ask for your permission.
Transcending beyond the generic idea of what a hip-hop producer can do, Infinity Knives (Tariq Ravelomanana) frequently demonstrates his oft-discussed love of contemporary classicalists. This can be felt in their latest record, A City Drowned in Godās Black Tears, one of the most fearless records released last year.
Itās a collection of confessional rap colliding with metal, psych, folk and electro, all held together by Ennalsā sometimes shockingly unfiltered verses and Infinity Knivesā production that pulls from orchestral music, first-wave hip-hop and doom metal in the same breath. The kitchen sink production and Ennalsā unapologetic verses are equally hard to look away from.
The record was shaped by grief - personal and political - and that weight carries into their live show. Ferocious, funny, riotously nihilistic and completely uncompromising. One of the most vital acts working in hip-hop right now.

Transcending beyond the generic idea of what a hip-hop producer can do, Infinity Knives (Tariq Ravelomanana) frequently demonstrates his oft-discussed love of contemporary classicalists such as Max Richter and Jóhann Jóhannsson. The precise control over the cleverly formed layers of melody and harmony provides a relentlessly inventive backdrop for Brian Ennals' righteous poetry of vitriol, rage, philosophy, humour, and myth-making.ā

First of all, I want to thank the @baltimorebanner for giving us their #1 spot as album of the year as well as Prometheus Brown on @kexp . In order to understand the story fully, you have to swipe through the pictures. Two decades ago, on Christmas, I came into the United States, and Baltimore became my home out of circumstances beyond my control, as it does for a lot of people. I was twelve. My punk neighbor Jessie, who was fourteen or fifteen and older and cooler to me, burned me a shit ton of CDs of what she called āAmerican music,ā and among them were Germs Anthology, Bad Brainsā self titled record, and Sonic Nurse by Sonic Youth. Those records shifted something in me, and they stitched me, slowly, into the dialogue of the music scene that raised me. So today felt unreal: on the same day the Baltimore Banner gave us album of the year, Thurston Moore put us on his best albums of 2025. If my friend Kristin had been alive today, sheād say, āduh.ā This year was insanely turbulent, full of misfortunes, and by the miracles of my friends I am alive to witness any of it. I got here the way most people do: by enduring what I did not choose, and paying whatever the toll collector asked for at the moment, whether I had it to spare or not; but I can still see a pocket of good clearly enough to hold it, and that foolish toll collector knows not that I had pulled the old Mr. Krabs string on a coin trick.
