3 weeks is way too long to go with out a cross race! As always had an absolute blast at the @thrashers_bike_club #LMCX season finale. The new #clearbrookpark course location had me reminiscing of days past running @bc.athletics #crosscountry races. Happy to come away with a win in the last race of the season. Huge thanks to @tenaciousdrew for the insane amount of work it takes to put on these races. And big thanks to our CX community. It is such an amazing group of supportive people. See you all in 2025.

Still fired up from last weekend's battle at #bccxchamps. I had a blast battling it out with the same guys I've been racing against/with for well over 12+ years on what was definitely the best course of the year so far. Thanks @mvdhcx and @thrashers_bike_club for all the hard work that goes into making these races great.
In the end, I made some mistakes while under pressure in the last 2 laps and a gap opened up that I wasn't able to close. Hopefully I at least made @nathankillam work for it a little, congrats buddy. 😉

Not much to say other than this pasta is a classic. Tranette Al Pesto.. or... the pasta from Luca is always best when you can get fresh Basil. Good food is always best when shared with good company. Thanks @johnsonstudios.co for the #snaps and #friendship
Been a minute since Christmas, but miraculously found the time to keep the tradition going, just had to reduce the number of courses from 7 to 5. Goal this year was to put cinnamon and orange in everything. Seems fine.
- Pecan and ricotta stuffed dates with cinnamon
- Cinnamon orange duck salad
- GF Cjarsons (Chickpea flour)
- Orange & Cinnamon braised short rib with celeriac 2 ways.
- Brownie with cinnamon orange sauce
Can't believe it's already the end of the 2023 CX season. It's been a whirlwind for sure. Just making it to the start line of each race this year has already been a win for me, so it's been a bonus to sneak on a few podiums. Looking forward making it to the last start line this weekend at National CX Championships.

What can I say? Wasn't exactly the #vaniercx I was hoping for, but I think I'll need to change my expectations a little as to what racing looks like this fall. Aside from the general lack of sleep that comes with having a newborn at home, I think what hit me the hardest was the general lack of time to prepare. I found it challenging to find the time to glue tubulars among other things, and racing on a wheel set I wasn't familiar with meant a couple meters gap I'd let go on every corner. They really start to add up. Ultimately what I was most bummed about was a mechanical and crash out. I hate not finishing races, let alone my favourite one of the year. Anyways, onto the next one, and hopefully with some more preparedness this time.

Amazing to have the return of #gastowngrandprix after the covid hiatus. Obviously would have been nice to have the rest of #bcsuperweek but maybe a blessing in disguise for me. Having become a parent only 12 days prior, it was pretty crazy that I actually made it to the start line with enough energy to function. Would have liked to race a bit stronger and maintain better position, but I found myself completely drained for the last 10-15 laps. Still happy to be out there, as always the atmosphere was absolutely electric.
Huge thanks to my amazing wife who would have also probably liked to be racing her bike, but instead got our newborn out the door and down to Gastown for the evening, no small feat.
