As we hit the halfway mark for this years @surfaid Make A Wave Challenge! ❤️🌊 a chance to reflect, reconnect and give thanks for the generous donations ❤️🙏 I am surfing every day for the month of September to raise funds for SurfAid. When you support my fundraising you give families in remote communities connected to us through surfing a hand up, rather than a handout. Me surfing in this challenge may seem like a joke to those who know me as I try to get in the ocean daily mainly as a medicinal / therapeutic routine to calm my mind and body 🌅 There have been times in my life when I have turned my back on the sea and my wheels fell off. 🌊 The Mental Health benefits of fresh air and exercise even just in small doses can uplift the soul and momentarily get us out of our own heads, that first duck dive or first breath of cool morning air 🌞 I will be surfing everyday in September regardless of the conditions to support the SurfAid kaupapa but also to bring awareness to Suicide Prevention,Mental Heath and Healing properties of the Ocean.
