I'm still processing this one.
Being a featured guest speaker at the 2nd Annual Financial Empowerment Summit was something I will carry with me for a long time. It was my first time on a panel in front of such a large audience, and honestly, I was nervous. But the moment I started talking about Life Insurance — a topic that so many of us in Black and Brown communities have been taught to avoid or just never had access to — the room shifted. People leaned in. And that reminded me exactly why this work matters. The breakout session felt like a real conversation, real connection.
I left that room feeling full in a way I didn't expect. To Daniel Robertson and the entire Breaking Barriers team— thank you for creating a space where our communities can access knowledge that generationally changes lives. It was an honor to stand in that room and serve. This is what it's all about.
