📚✨ Building Readers. Growing Leaders. Changing Futures. ✨📚
Big Brothers Big Sisters’ Mentoring Through Literacy Program is already making a powerful impact—strengthening reading skills while building confidence, leadership, and meaningful connections among youth. Since launching in April, participants have engaged in interactive sessions filled with icebreakers, hands-on activities, thoughtful discussions, and opportunities to grow in a supportive, judgment-free space.
Using Let’s Get L.I.T. curriculum by Clianda Florence, youth are connecting deeply with stories like Clayton Byrd Goes Underground while developing key literacy skills and preparing for advanced strategies like annotation.
With strong community partnerships, dedicated Bigs, Littles, and engaged youth, we’re already seeing growth in comprehension, confidence, and participation—laying the foundation for a truly transformative, long-term impact in our community. 💙

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. For young people, a mentor can be a trusted adult who listens, encourages, and believes in them—and it works. In 2025, 93.5% of youth in our program improved social confidence and acceptance thanks to mentoring.
Your support makes these life‑changing relationships possible. If you can, consider becoming a $10 monthly donor to help youth build confidence and resilience.
