Edition 30| Friday Night Live at Leaping Windows
Deepika Seth is a singer, songwriter, and composer with roots in ghazal, creating music she describes as ‘Urdu indie folk’. Her writing explores themes of hope, love, and magic, with echoes of artists like Ali Sethi, Rekha Bharadwaj, Arooj Aftab, Novo Amor, and Bon Iver rippling through her sound.
2026 marks an exciting new chapter as Deepika prepares to release her debut album, ‘Qisse कल Ke’ — an exploration of her evolving sonic identity, often described as reminiscent of retro Bollywood melodies.
Catch her live this Friday alongside Sambhav Pratap Singh on guitar and David De Menezes on viola for a stripped-down, heartfelt performance featuring largely unreleased compositions

Throwback to one of the most colourful shows we’ve played in recent times at the gorgeous @artisanscentre in Kala Ghoda, Mumbai 🎨✨
Performing our album live for so many people these past few months has been such an honour. I wasn’t sure what we’d sound like when @bread_andsam and I first set out on this journey last year, but with each show, each new collaboration and each new room - Qisse कल ke takes on new shapes, new emotions and new hues.
Can’t thank @altipalti_festival enough for having us play at this gorgeous space earlier this month. Our next performance is on Sunday, the 26th of April at @harkat.studios .
Find tickets on the link in my bio//on @alt.shows ✨

It’s a simple, intimate gathering designed for anyone who enjoys discovering new music in a relaxed setting.
The night will move from quiet, acoustic performances to more upbeat, experimental sets as the evening progresses. It will be a space to hear fresh sounds and discover new artists in the Indie Music Space.

To everyone asking, “HOW WAS SPOKEN???”
Well, let’s just say that I count my lucky stars every night since that day, for being able to do what I do, to be surrounded by the funny, talented, loving, and dedicated musicians I get to play with, and most of all, for all the amazing people who are joining us and supporting our music on this little journey.
Spoken has been on my vision board ever since I first attended the festival over three years ago. I remember thinking to myself, “There’s no other place like this — one where people collectively sit back, slow down, and just… listen.”
Always gonna be grateful af to @bread_andsam my partner in crime who encouraged me to audition for pitch fest. I truly had no idea we’d be walking away the winners 🙈🙈
And ofcourse, @davidde11 who’s been lending SO MUCH of his magic to this album ever since he joined us in December last year ✨🫶
I couldn’t have thought of a better place to make the festival debut of Qisse Kal Ke. With each show, each day, we’re lucky enough to see the love growing. I’m constantly having to extend my capacity to hold it all - and trust me, it’s one of the biggest honours of my life.
To anyone reading this who’s still wondering if they should pursue their dream after all - yes, it’s hard. Yes, it’s slow. And YES, it’s absolutely worth it.
Nothing but gratitude. And I’ll share more from last month soon, because Spoken was only one of the many blessings that came our way in the month of love. 🥰✨
Still can’t wrap my head around the fact that our last show in 2025 was one that I’ve dreamed about for almost 8 years!!! And I AM SORRY FOR SHOUTING BUT DID YOU SEE THAT SKYLINE???? 🥹✨
Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to sell out stadiums some day, but some of my most precious memories as a music fan over the years are intimate gigs, especially the kind organised by @sofarbombay - I have been attending shows like this one since 2017 and always imagined myself playing one some day!!!
It felt almost divinely orchestrated to be able to play my original music to a terrace full of complete strangers, and have them turn into friends by the time the sun set - andddddd I had the honour to do this with a band I’m likely gonna be playing with a LOT more - because you know what? Something about this set of boys just feels right when I’m on stage.
I love when things fall into place just in time, and I’m loving how I get to slowly watch my dreams come true as we continue on this journey together.
Another bucket list item ofcourse was to get photographed by @mikig2 and ofcourse, this was the show where that HAD to happen too.
So grateful for this one. Here’s to many such magical shows in 2026 ✨
Shoutout to @liklalall , @ankitdayal and the rest of the sofar team for making us feel so comfortable all throughout ♥️♥️♥️
P.S one post won’t do justice to all the amazing photos we have - more on this soon!!
Leonard Cohen said, "If I knew where songs came from, I'd go there more often."
The second song I released this year, Oh Man, Growing Up, holds a special place for me because it was the first time I felt like what I wanted to say had come out, clearly and confidently.
It was the song that got me to play at Spoken Fest last year, it has given me more than I deserve.
Mostly, because, I too, am not entirely sure where the song came from or how much I had to do in bringing it out of that place. As Leonard Cohen said, if I knew, I too, would go there more often.
Oh Man, Growing Up, is streaming everywhere. Do give it a listen and share it along if you feel like, it would mean the world to me.
I get very irritated when I see creases on my bedsheet, or a towel hung askew. So I have been quite miffed these last few days as I have been reviewing the year.
All I see are wrinkles and crumples, faults and flaws, nicks, chips and dents.
One thing that I'm glad about in the year, however, was releasing the music I did. Right now I'm not in a position to judge them, I'm not sure what I make of them, but I'm glad I have them as symbols of my life as it was when I wrote them. Of all my starry-eyed naivety, of all my hopes, of all my shortcomings, of all my dreams.
So, as the year ends, I'm trying to sit back and accept the year for what it was. For everything that it was. Wrinkles, crumples, faults, flaws, nicks, chips and dents.
And of course, creases :)
This is a song I released earlier this year, titled, 'Show and Tell'. If you haven't already had a chance, please check out wherever you get your music and share it if you like it!
These are the hands, ears and hearts that helped shape ‘Heart On Rent’.

My new song, "A Little More", is now out everywhere.
This is the penultimate song of the record. I wrote it last year and titled it "If I Could Live My Life Over." It was more like a poem than a song. The idea was that if I did get a chance to live everything over again, I wouldn't change much except, perhaps, I would try to be a little less afraid.
I recorded it on the Piano with tremendous help from @robin_pallikunnath and @n_sharanya (who also suggested the name "A Little More", which I really liked) but then felt unsure about releasing it.
That was January of this year.
Cut to July, I decided to ask one of my best friends @amberkharee to help me arrange this song for two guitars. I recorded the song once again, once again with tremendous help from Robin and Sharanya, and this is the result.
Still unsure of what to make of it, but, as one of the lines in the song goes, this is my attempt to "dare a little more."
It would mean a lot if you listened to the song and let me know what you think of it, good or the other kind ;)
