I perdoneu-me la valentia, però ha sigut el millor avi que un net podria desitjar.
Ell em va ensenyar a entendre el camp, la muntanya i la natura en general.A saber on trobar els millors bolets, tot i que sempre es va guardar en secret els millors llocs (com manen les lleis no escrites dels boletaires), a entendre com es feia el vi “peleón” dels Rabert, a conèixer els arbres del voltant del poble per poder fer un herbari, tal com em demanaven a l’escola i a valorar els moments tranquils, a casa, al costat del foc.
A més, sempre que va fer falta, em va ajudar amb totes les meves idees quan començava amb la fotografia. Com aquest retrat, on vaig barrejar la meva influència del hip-hop per retratar un autèntic “Old School”: ell.
I escric tot això en passat perquè aquesta setmana ens ha deixat.
I no em puc sentir més afortunat d’haver pogut gaudir de la seva companyia durant tots aquests anys.

Flew to Munich (first time ever), stayed less than 52h and, basically, in a 300–400m stretch of a street.
Hotel → coffee spot → Marcel’s CAAD museum ( @caadastrophe ) → hotel.
That’s where I saw the new @ridecannondale CAAD14 for the first time, watched the build, and documented it (you know, my usual way of working and aim to keep Andreas happy with the photos ).
But of course… I still pulled out my Ricoh GRIIIx for some “shitty pictures”. 📸

En mi familia no hay tradición de fotógrafos.
La fotografía simplemente estaba ahí, como en cualquier casa.
Pero recuerdo de pequeño trasteando con la Konica T4 de mi padre.
No tenía ni idea de lo que hacía. Solo me gustaba mover la palanca de arrastre… y disparar. Ese sonido mecánico del obturador.
Luego miraba las fotos que guardaba en la misma caja.
Muchas, muchísimas fotos de rallies por la zona donde vivíamos.
Mi padre, un aficionado a los rallies.
Y en especial, una foto:
Un Simca 1000 a dos ruedas en una de las curvas de la subida a Els Àngels de Girona.
Treinta años después, soy fotógrafo profesional. Vivo de la fotografía.
Y creo que, de alguna manera, todo empezó ahí.
Así que me tocaba devolverle algo.
El Rally Costa Brava era la carrera que mi padre nunca se perdía.
Sin decir nada, preparé una nevera con bebidas, unos bocatas… y me lo llevé sin decirlo donde ibamos paraa ver un par de tramos de la edición actual, ahora convertida en rally histórico.
Pudo volver a ver muchos de los coches que fotografiaba años atrás.
Y yo aproveché para hacer fotos también.
Buscando uno en concreto: su favorito, el Renault Alpine.
Mi objetivo?
Imprimirlas, enmarcarlas…y que las tenga en casa.

Post-COVID, (Don’t even remember the year — ’21? ’22?) I went back belgium to shot some #cyclocross races and again, digging through hard drives, I found photos I didn’t even remember taking…and from Zonhoven, one of my favorite races.

Long story short:
2016. Canon EOS 5D Mark III. @lafabricagirona had a cycling team, and Arnau and Jordi were part of it. Montseny covered in snow.
The result? These shots.
