Today I’m proud to announce my next full-length album, Not Everyone Can Go, is coming out on August 29th via Nettwerk Records. I created this album during a period of profound transition in my life. Now a husband and father of two sons, the balancing act of a career in music and that of a family man has become even more nuanced, requiring more planning and intentionality than ever before. Which for a Jazz musician like myself, honestly didn’t come naturally lol. But I’m so grateful for the lessons I’ve learned (and learning) and proud of the man I’m becoming.
This album depicts the journey through internal conflict, reconciliation, and renewed love and passion. It’s a soulful meditation on letting go of what no longer serves you, leaning into life’s inevitable shifts, and finding gratitude amid the chaos. This is easily my most collaborative album to date and you can really feel that energy! It was truly an honor working with some really amazing artists and producers including: Elijah Fox, Nate Smith, Marie Dahlstrom, and NAVVY as well continuing to evolve our band’s concept.
The first single “All My Life,” is out today with a brand-new video directed by Mazi Mazi and I’m super proud of how this video came out. This song and video capture the beauty of family life and Black love in a way that I’m really proud of! Grateful for your amazing work @mazismazi !
I’m also thrilled to be announcing the start of the “Not Everyone Can Go” tour later this year. Back outside!! Tickets for most shows are on sale this Friday with more to come. Can’t wait to see you all soon. Links in bio for everything!
Lastly, it’s not lost on me that what we are witnessing in the streets of LA is the act of authoritarian dictator! We have every right to peacefully protest and Trump is currently sending Marines and National Guard to LA as we speak to combat the American people. What ICE is doing in our communities is truly a travesty and we need to come together now more than ever to speak out against this tyranny and abuse of power, we need to protest and use our voice. Past few days have been really inspiring to say the least!! Just played the Blue Note with @josejamesmusic alongside some amazing musicians @orbareket on bass, @tylerb.2 on keys, @ob3isme on drums. In honor of Coltrane’s centennial this year we played the music of Trane. And this wasn’t an ordinary tribute where we play Giant Steps and his burning tunes we really delved into his alter works and this experience was really deep. Left me inspired to really shed and get back to my horn in a real way. Thank you Jose for having me and thank you to everyone that came out this weekend to honor the legacy of the great John Coltrane.🙏🏾🙏🏾

Life lately has been great!! Im blessed. March was a busy month of touring, then straight into a fun Spring Break with the boys. I’m currently working on a straight ahead project, new music, a journal for artists amongst other things.
