Recent brand refresh for @thegrovedistillery . Margaret River’s first distillery established in 1995: Not every brand needs to shout louder. Some just need to slow things down. The Grove didn’t need to chase tourists. It needed to become a destination. #BrandDesign #BrandStrategy #DestinationBranding #HospitalityBranding #FoodAndBeverage MargaretRiver WesternAustralia LifestyleBrands

Recently wrapped up the brand identity for the Margaret River Region Craft Beer Trails - a collab with the South West Brewers Alliance and the MRBTA @margaretriver . The brief was wide open, so we had a bit of fun with playful illustrations, bold display type and plenty of personality. I’ve got a real soft spot for beverage and hospo brands. They’re curious, open-minded and usually up for trying something new (which makes the work way more fun). This one was a ripper. Check it out on my website for more info. Cheers! 🍻 #foodandbeverage #brandidentity #beveragebranding #tourismwa #margaretriver @swcreativecorner

Ooof, it’s been a massive year and maybe like me you’re really looking forward to a little time off over Christmas. Prob not a bad thing at all - because whether you’re feeling stuck or running on empty, the best thing you can do is slow down. Take a moment, breathe - get honest and clear a moment to plan for the future. If you’re starting to think about next year, and how you can change your dynamic - notably in regard to your business. To stop playing small and make all the hours count toward something more meaningful - maybe I can help. Check out my website to find out what I can offer or book a call to chat 1-on-1. When approached to create a brand identity for the local holiday parks in the South West, it initially seemed like a typical corporate project. But when Tim Kerr from @brainstormdesigner heard the approved name 'Yiradjinda' it was immediately clear this was something far more meaningful. Yiradjinda comes from the Wadandi Noongar words 'Yira' (under) and 'Djinda' (stars). The name, generously provided by local Cultural Custodians Zac and Wayne Webb of the @undalup_association carries a profound connection to the land and sky, setting the tone for the project. To translate this into a brand, he sought a local artist and was fortunate to collaborate with the talented Kim Kiosses from @kimberley.creative Her beautiful, unique artwork became the heart of the Yiradjinda identity. With her approval, the pieces were digitised and adapted into brand marks, creating a contemporary yet culturally rooted identity that truly honours the heritage. 'It has been an immense privilege to work alongside local cultural custodians, listening to stories and gaining knowledge that shaped this project. I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity and hope this brand identity reflects the beauty and depth of Wadandi culture for all who encounter it.' #swcreativecorner #thecreativecorner #southwestcreatives #margaretriverregion #margaretriver #cowaramup #yallingup #dunsborough #busselton #bunbury #westernaustralia #australia

Well, I haven’t posted on here for yonks, so with today’s algorithms shit show, I’m not expecting too much. Still this remains a place to upload some content and gather some sort of an online presence so let’s give it a go. This was a super fun project for a great cause. Working with @mamakinpics and @dingospender to create branding for this years Choir Camp 2024. Held in the beautiful surrounds of Eastern Maar Kirrae Whurrung, along the coastline of The Great Ocean Road, this weekend of singing, dancing and eating sounds like a blissful getaway for anyone and everyone! As per many of my favourite projects, I was able to mix hand crafted, pen on paper graphics with digital application to deliver something a little unique. I hope you like. #graphicdesign #brand #branding #illustration #pendrawing #typography #choircamp #australia

I created some artwork for @cabinfever_au merch comp for 2024. It’s always fun to do this sort of thing and fun to have a brief to play with. I’ve been coming to Cabin Fever since they first kicked off. It’s a great festival that keeps the local #margaretriver locals sane in the cold winter months. I’d love your vote in their comp to make this merch a reality. Head over to their poll in their stories and vote #2 if you like what you see. Thanks

So, I landed in Australia when I was 12. My dad had some work thing going on, and my mum and I were lucky enough to tag along for the ride. Australia was like this shiny dream in the ‘90s – blue skies, golden beaches, a warm vibe, killer waves, and music from bands like Midnight Oil, Silverchair, and Smashing Pumpkins, which I was totally into back then. The whole place just felt so upbeat, with this can-do attitude that got me thinking, “Maybe Australia is the spot for me.” We hung around Melbourne during that trip, and to be honest, I don’t remember much. Checked out some art galleries (they probably dragged me in there at that age), and I think we hit up Bells Beach outside the city. But one thing blew my mind – parrots in people’s gardens! I was kinda obsessed with parrots, hoping to get some budgies at home. And here they were, just chilling everywhere. Fast forward over 30 years, and guess what? I’m living in this awesome country. Despite some questionable political leaders, I still think Australia rocks. Beyond all the bureaucratic stuff, it’s this gorgeous land full of crazy plants and animals. And those parrots? Yep, still hanging out in my garden. Not gonna lie, they annoy me a bit when they mess with my fruit trees, but seriously, we don’t give them enough credit. Most places, you’d have to hit the zoo for that parrot action, but not here! So, this artwork? It’s a shout-out to the cool Australian Ringneck (Barnadius Semitorquatus), aka the Dararda in Wadandi Wongi. They deserve a bit more love, don’t you think?

A couple of years ago I heard by way of friends a saying that resonated: Complete Your Circles. As I start another year, with a head full of misshapen ideas jiggling about this head of mine, and a drive to attack them all at once, I am imposing some guidelines to try to instil some order - Complete Your Circles! It’s particularly relevant at this time of year as I try to spark and jumpstart my brain from its relaxed state reached over the holidays. It starts with focus, but certainly doesn’t stop there. I’ll need drive, commitment, follow-through, dedication and devotion…. and that’s just to get started writing the list of tasks! #completeyourcircles #newyearsresolution #2024
