The world is too much with us; late and soon,
Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers;—
Little we see in Nature that is ours;

So much joy from people, places and pastries this year. Thank you all 🙏
🎧Remember those Orange singlets at Boston and London?
We spoke to the man behind the vision of Puma’s Project 3, Luke Maher.
Luke was a Tufts grad that went on to coach at Amherst and Conn College.
He transitioned out of the college coaching ranks into a marketing role at Puma.
We discussed the why behind supporting sub elite athletes at Boston and New York and how it came to be.
It was such a success they’re bring it back for New York.

Lying, thinking
Last night
How to find my soul a home
Where water is not thirsty
And bread loaf is not stone
I came up with one thing
And I don’t believe I’m wrong
That nobody,
But nobody
Can make it out here alone.
Alone, all alone
Nobody, but nobody
Can make it out here alone.

Pretty cool weekend!
Thanks to everyone who painted a cannon, ran some miles, ate some bagels, rocked out on the rooftop and shared in all the celebration from start to finish.
Shout out to the sponsors 📣 @bagelsaurus13@thenitrobar_@pumarunning@tuxctutf@lego
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

A lot has changed this year. I never thought I would find myself not being a coach. I had created such sense of purpose and meaning through it all. Yet with everything, change is inevitable and fleeting.
Since taking a step away from coaching and having the sport of running play a different role in my life. I’ve come to appreciate and recognize the beauty of all it in a new light. Especially how fortunate I am to be part of its community in so many different areas. Everything from the worlds best athletes, coaching colleagues, former athletes, teammates turned lifelong friends, run crews, colleagues, acquaintances near and far.
How did this all come to be ? I was thinking about this in the context of running recently and it all probably began firing over fifteen years ago. It was most likely some 6AM pitch dark run on the dirt roads of Iten being pulled along and well outside my ability level. This all after convincing my parents to let me spend the summer there at the age of 14 and it being my first time out of the country.
Unraveling that imaginary timeline of life, I can easily plot that moment. Hunched over and out of breath on a hill in Iten, I couldn’t imagine the countless other beautiful, big, small, ordinary moments that would come about in my life due to running in the years to follow. Even through this year of big changes, I can recognize the beauty and feel gratitude for the past, present and future.
Yours in running,
@boyfromiten
What a whirlwind of a few months. After ten years of being in the sport coaching, I was scared to make a big jump and go down a new path. Though I’ve been incredibly fortunate to become part of a new team with @pumarunning and frankly much hasn’t changed. Logging early morning miles with an awesome group of people, working with awesome team members day in day out, and striving for big things on the roads, track and trails! That was all on display this week down in Austin from @citiusmag group run, @therunningevent , and @SoundRunning Champs. Excited for what the future holds and being #ForeverFaster!
How fortunate I have been to have the ebbs and flows of cross country / track seasons make up more than half my life. Since joining @tuxctutf back in 2009 and wrapping it up as a pseudo assistant coach. To packing up my bags in the summer of 2013 and heading west to @amhersttfxc . A thrilling and rewarding four years in Amherst, prepared me well for when I took my next step to @conncollxctf back in 2017.
I now bittersweetly take a step back from coaching and embark on a new journey for the first time in my life. Little did I know back in the summer of 2013 that the next ten years would be filled with so many incredible people and moments. My day to day life revolved around supporting individuals and teams seeking out success in this amazing sport, as well as in their academics, community, and personal lives. It has been an absolute privilege to have that be my job for the last decade. So many athletes, teams, and coaches have made my life so rich and rewarding through their presence and common pursuits. I cannot thank those countless individuals enough for making my time as a coach one of the most rewarding things in my life.
While I won’t be coaching, I’m excited to keep the sport a focal point in my life and I’m excited for what the future holds!
