The Deadly Kisser KO’s Cherry Sor Wanich It was the golden age of Muay Thai. On January 4, 1991, at Lumpinee Stadium, Rajadamnern Stadium champion Sangtiennoi Sor Rungroj faced Lumpinee Stadium champion Cherry Sor Wanich. For Sangtiennoi, it was a chance to come back. He made the most of it. Years later, before he passed away, Sangtiennoi sat down and told the story in his own words. This is what he said. Today, his family carries on the tradition at Tor Sangtiennoi in Pathum Thani. Classic Muay Thai. Hard training. Hard fighters. 🥊 @sangtiennoi_sor_rungroj Video via @boxingworks

I had the pleasure of photographing Japanese Champion @k1takeru while he was training with @trainwithsef at the legendary @boxingworks in Torrance. Through out my career I have been blessed to photograph champions from all over the world. It is through years of work, my quality of work, and trust, that I am invited to these private sessions with legendary athletes. I remember Takeru as he faced one of my fave fighters @victor_venomoussaravia years ago in Japan. He was a force back then and is a force right now. Takeru was super nice and friendly giving me the time to photograph him. Grateful to Sef for the opportunity. Photographing Takeru’s last fight camp is a bucket list item for me and I hope that he gets to put on a show in Japan. It was an honor.

I had the huge honor of being able to fight in Thai Town several years in a row during Songkran. Before the fight you wash away all the bad luck and sins from the previous year and then celebrate the New Year starting it off with a win. The way is in training. Virum Kampf wäscht een de schlechte Gléck an d’Sënne vum leschte Joer ewech an da feiert een dat neit Joer, andeems een et mat enger Victoire ufänkt. De Wee läit am Training. 🪓 X @bryanpopejoy hiding in the background @boxingworks representing @worldthaiboxingassociation representing #songkran #muaythai #kickboxing #nakmuay #thaiboxing

@iska_usa CA 115lb title: We take home the win ❤️‍🔥 50-45 unanimous decision 🫡 … WOW, so much to be said about this particular fight. Coming back from a string of losses as well as injuries, re-injuring my knee at the beginning of this camp, and an entire mountain of personal life trials & tribulations—life of course does not stop just because you have a fight lined up. Despite everything I felt so focused and committed on THIS. I do this sport because I love it & it gives me a deep sense of purpose & teaches me so many new & unexpected lessons. On a technical aspect, we’ve been working a lot on mixing up my game and not becoming too stuck in one pattern of doing things. I don’t believe I did *everything* I wanted to do, but the over-arching theme of this camp has been flowing & making adjustments as necessary (which has also been the theme in life as well lol). Before I went out my coach Bryan reminded me that I am an artist & that fighting is my opportunity to express myself. So I went out there, danced a little, threw some limbs around, and had such a fun fun time! Still a lot to work on & as always forward we go!! … So many ppl to thank! Of course my coach @bryanpopejoy who’s been with me through so much for over a decade. The entire team at @boxingworks not only for the training but the community, comradery. A special shout out to my main training partner @elvirafrausto who’s been there every damn day (& helped with more than just kicking) as well as @dashchaiyasen who let me kick him in the head a ton & helped me cut weight & get to the event. Thank you to @hernandez97e & @thesportscomplex_ team for my strength gains—I felt SO STRONG & well conditioned. Thank you to my nutritionist @icee_sportsnutrition for keeping me well fueled all camp & helping me make weight. Thank you to every single person who came out to support or sent me kind words, every piece counts and truly truly means so much to me. You all fill my heart ❣️ Team effort!!!! .. 📸: @the.visual.knockout (image 1) @elvirafrausto (image 4)

SISTERHOOD PROJECT ATHLETE 🌸 Caia • Los Angeles, CA “There’s an unspoken safety and trust among women.” From her first class at Boxing Works, she found more than just a sport. She found a place to grow alongside other women doing the same. Her style is constantly evolving. She calls it aggro-flow. This camp hasn’t been easy but she’s showing up anyway. Because when you know what you love, you don’t negotiate it. April 4 🥊 ISKA State Title
