In the last several years I have seen the number of women in Combat Sports grow in all areas. Fighters, Coaches, Refs, Officials, Cut Women, Health Professionals, Journalists, Photographers and Business Women showing up and doing the damn thing! It’s refreshing to see so many badass females step into and dominate in these roles. I’m excited to continue watching girls and women rise. Let’s keep showing up for one another and teaching the next generation of girls what is possible for them! 👊🏻💫❤️🔥

If you have wondered why I haven’t shared much lately, here is a window into my life the past 6 months. ❤️🩹

My year took a turn that I didn’t expect, but I can’t say there isn’t something to it. I started out this year riding a wave of success and I intended to move forward at full speed on the course I had set for myself, but the universe had other plans for me, which is so often the case.
.
I had to soak in the potent teachings of patience and acceptance, common themes I think a lot of us have felt as of late. We don’t always get what we want when we want it, and that’s okay. Sometimes we just have to trust that there is something greater in store for us that we cannot yet picture.
.
I began this business in 2021, enjoyed a lot of growth in 2022, and planned to continue that growth in 2023 but I realized I had to take a step back to focus on the thing that is most important, which is my family. To all those who checked in, thank you. To those who have given me grace and understanding as the delivery of fight content has been delayed, I appreciate you. This is more than work to me, this is a platform where I can inspire and be inspired to never give up in the face of challenge. The most beautiful thing about being human is our resiliency, and my little niece Unity is a lovely example of not allowing circumstances outside of our control define who we are. You decide who you want to be and you have the power to make it happen. Keep fighting for a better version of you!!

As we enter May, I wanted to share this project I created a while back in collaboration with @ohsillylynn where we discussed the impact of martial arts on mental health. Lynn beautifully expresses how becoming a fighter strengthened her mental fortitude. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose, but we pick ourselves up and keep going.
.
Lynn is a great example of not giving up in the face of challenge and heartache. During her last fight, Lynn fought 5 hard rounds on a torn ACL, with the painful awareness that her grandmother was on her deathbed. Lynn fought through the heavy emotions and physical limitations and came out victorious, but the real battle was just beginning. She is now on the tale end of her recovery process and her comeback is not one to miss. Go give her a follow asap! @ohsillylynn

We are more powerful than we realize, yet we all have a voice of fear and doubt in our mind which says. “not good enough, don’t do it.” And when we let that voice win, we deny ourselves the opportunity for growth, and we deny others the ability to learn from our lived experiences.

The world needs to hear your story. Share your art, in whatever form it comes - be it dancing, fighting, writing, creating - whatever it is your soul is calling you to do. Do it, and do it for yourself.

Success doesn’t mean we always win. Failure and setbacks are a part of the journey and the more we can learn to embrace them, the more fulfillment we will achieve in our lives and the stronger our mental outlook will be. We do, we learn, we grow. It’s never perfect, it’s just human.

Some pics of Ronnie from her fight @the.visual.knockout and @bmb.photos_ capturing the moments. 💯🫡 We had a blast and it was stacked card with great Muay Thai from all teams that we matched up. These girls put on one of the more technical fights that night and the crowd loved every second. Not the outcome we worked for but nonetheless we were grateful for the oppertunity and to share the ring with another solid warrior. Thank you Lord for keeping Ronnie safe and for another day to do what we love out there. Shout out to Thai Fighting Championship and Ikf for putting on a REAL Muay Thai show here in SoCal been a cool minute since we all been treated to that.
