“The building in which Bryan O’Sullivan lives with his husband and their toddler son is not without irony. A glowering brutalist tower in the Barbican, it is the antithesis of the glamorous and irreverent style for which his interior design studio has become known. Colour, curves and comfort are very much O’Sullivan’s signature, evident from his long list of prestigious projects, including the recent redesign of Claridge’s Restaurant and the stylish Berkeley Bar & Terrace, with its splashes of coral. Those and more are the focus of O’Sullivan’s first book, A New Glamour, which is published this week and charts the past ten years of his studio’s impressive achievements. Rather like his work, O’Sullivan is full of surprises. His love for the Barbican estate and its jagged-edged silhouette is one he has held since his architecture-student days. “I have always been obsessed with it,” the Irishman says. “So when the opportunity came up to buy an apartment here I jumped at the chance. Although James took a little more convincing.” Hugest of thanks to @theststyle @phoebejmcd @busolaevans for this wonderful feature ahead of our book launch next week! 📸 James McDonald

I can’t quite believe I am writing this, but I am absolutely brimming with joy to reveal our debut book, ‘A New Glamour’, will be released on 2nd April, published by @rizzolibooks Marking ten years of our studio, the book features fifteen of our projects across the globe - including four new and exclusive houses from Bel Air to the Greek Riviera. Many years ago I was lucky enough to work with a hero of mine, Annabelle Selldorf, and I am so honored that she agreed to write the foreword for the book. @annabelleselldorf Although it feels like we’re only just getting started, it’s been a real trip to look back on how much the team and I have accomplished so far. Thank you to everyone who has made this possible, especially @samuelcochran for the hours of therapy, my super talented brother Eamonn @anchor.studio for the beautiful graphic work, @james_mcdonald_photography for the incredible camera work and Charles & Giulia at Rizzoli for their belief in our work and unending patience. Thanks also to @thisischimeramusic and especially @samritamudher for all their work in house helping to make it all happen. Pre-order is now available via our website (link in bio) and all major bookstores.

A quiet moment from our recently completed Hamptons project, featured in Architectural Digest. For this powder room, we wanted the materiality to feel almost immersive — richly figured marble wrapping the floor and sink, deep stained oak, and a vintage illuminated Max Ingrand mirror casting a soft atmospheric glow. The marble itself was discovered on a journey through Italy with our client, spending days visiting quarries together in search of something with real depth, movement, and emotion. Those shared experiences always become part of the story of a house. We are thrilled to share our latest project in the Hamptons, now featured in Architectural Digest. Inspired by the enduring architecture of Sir Edwin Lutyens and the warmth, texture, and craftsmanship of the Arts & Crafts movement, the house was designed to feel rooted in history while remaining calm, contemporary, and highly livable for modern family life. It was a true pleasure collaborating with the extraordinarily talented Tom Kligerman and the Kligerman Architecture & Design team, Deborah Nevins, Wright & Co, and above all, a truly exceptional client whose vision, passion, instinct, and unwavering commitment to detail shaped every aspect of the home. Thank you to Paola Singer for the beautiful words, William Jess Laird for capturing the house so brilliantly through his lens, and Amy Astley and the entire AD team for your continued support, encouragement, and belief in our studio. We are deeply grateful. @tomkligerman @kligerman.ad @archdigest @william.jess.laird @amyastley @paola.singer @alevasseur1 @samuelcochran @deborah_nevins @joecarline @erin.siobhan.curry @wrightand.co

In the owners’ cabin of our Feadship yacht project, we layered a mix of vintage and contemporary pieces; Max Ingrand sconces mirrored above a Timothy Schreiber console. The lighting throughout the boat was something we paid particular attention to, and these vintage pieces bring a warmth that works seamlessly with the materials in the room. We also designed a bespoke shagreen dressing table for the cabin, finished with tasselled Art Deco-style pulls. It’s a subtle nod to the Art Deco influence the clients loved, particularly from our work at Claridge’s.

It’s a great honour to be named amongst @1stdibs 50 honorees! First and foremost I have to thank my incredible team, who tirelessly show up every day brimming with creativity and passion. Secondly, a big thank you to our clients for their faith and belief in our work. The picture featured is a little taster from an apartment we had the pleasure of working on in Park Avenue. We can’t wait to share more of it over the summer! 🍾

In the study of our Nottinghill Townhouse project, we worked with a more restrained palette, leaning into the warmth of the oak panelling. A coffee table by Pierre Yovanovitch sits with a Annabelle Selldorf sofa and Bernt Petersen stools, while a vintage chandelier by Hans-Agne Jakobsson introduces a softer, ambient feeling. The breakfast room takes on a different tone - lighter, but still grounded in materiality. A Matthew Cox table is surrounded by Svenskt Tenn chairs, with pendants by Alvar Aalto overhead and a painting by Wolf Kahn bringing colour to the walls. In the formal living room, we layered a broader mix of pieces. A nineteenth-century French giltwood mirror hangs above a Jamb fireplace, while seating includes a Spring chair from the Bryan O’Sullivan Collection and a Vladimir Kagan sofa.

Blade Runner was referenced by our clients very early on when we started discussing the Bel Air project, which gave us permission to be a bit bold with materials and furniture. In the formal living space there’s a large light sculpture by Robert Irwin that really defines the room. We paired it with two curving sofas - one by Raphael Navot for Domeau & Pérès and another by De Sede - which soften the scale of the space. In the dining room we mixed a George Nakashima table with Gio Ponti chairs and a bespoke light fixture. A lot of the house works this way - combining vintage pieces with custom designs.

On the upper deck of our Feadship yacht project, we designed a bespoke bar in Giallo Siena marble, with an illuminated textured-glass back panel carrying a subtle feather motif. Elsewhere on board, we introduced pieces that help shift the mood of the boat towards something more relaxed and contemporary - including a Mario Bellini sectional that anchors one of the seating areas, paired with side tables by Hamrei. In the dining area we went with a Duccio Maria Gambi table surrounded by Carlo de Carli chairs - simple, elegant pieces that sit comfortably within the architecture of the yacht.

For the bar at Claridge’s Restaurant, we worked with a rich mix of materials. The bar is framed in Calacatta Viola marble, with a brass gantry crowned by alabaster-glass lights. The front is inset with shield-like panels of Verde Marinace marble, while the existing walls were refinished in a tortoiseshell trompe l’oeil; bespoke stools complete the composition. Smaller details such as the inlaid “C” within the mosaic floor anchor the space in its wider context, a gesture that ties back to the identity of Claridge’s.

In the primary suite of our Notting Hill townhouse project, we brought together a mix of pieces spanning different periods. A vintage Swedish globe pendant by Harald Notini hangs above a bespoke bed, flanked by Alexandre Biaggi lamps and BDDW tables. A bench by Marc Bankowsky sits at the foot of the bed, incorporating a mix of vintage and contemporary pieces within a more restrained palette. In the sitting room, a Dedar wallcovering sets the tone for a layered mix of furnishings, including an Orior console and Halfdan Ramfjord club chairs. A nineteenth-century mirror from O’Sullivan Antiques sits above the fireplace, with lighting that ranges from an Elsa Foulon pendant to table lamps by Collier Webb and Christopher Spitzmiller.
