We’re thrilled to be planning the next phase of BOM! Just a few weeks ago, we signed on the dotted line and purchased a permanent home for BOM, and we’re excited.Located at 120 - 122 Great Barr Street, our future home is next door to @digbethlocstudios, at the heart of Digbeth’s evolving creative scene.There’s a long way to go as we have extensive renovations planned with dedicated spaces for BOM’s Immersive Studio, creating award-winning XR projects and virtual production, as well as creating new classroom space for our education programmes.We’re incredibly grateful to @bhamcitycouncil for their support in accessing Community Infrastructure Levy funding and national Government Levelling Up funds via the Community Ownership Fund.We’ll be sharing progress as we go with a relocation date for late 2027, so watch this space!PS - We have key team members who are missing in the last photo but they’re absolutely coming with us!Read more on our blog! Introducing Brum SoundTracks! ️A location-based augmented reality app that brings Birmingham’s iconic musical heritage to life. We worked with @‌jezcollins from @‌birminghammusicarchive to create an app which explores Brum’s iconic music venues, discovering facts, photos and archive material along the way.Download on iOS and Android now. BOM highlights!1. Animation shorts ⭐️ Louise, Caroline and Winnie attended @flatpackfestival and @overlapsocial, and we were proud to see Bootcamp alumni, @maxyharding’s animation on the big screen! 2. In the studio We had global hearing aid experts from @oticonglobal visit, and the team worked on a series of video recordings.3. Creative R&D Akshay has been busy with R&D, including testing out the @blackmagicnewsofficial URSA Cine Immersive Camera. It’s fancy.4. Training ️ Louise and Akshay have been on an adult education training course to brush up on their skills ahead of the new bootcamps.5. Photo day New headshots for some of our team taken by the very talented @angela.grabowska. We can’t wait to get her back in for more pics soon!

We’re proud to play a small part in their creative journeys, and we’re delighted to share that several of our alumni have recently secured funding with @immersivearts_uk and @aceagrams.Huge congrats to Ruth Hopkins, Shayan Mawlood and Hazel Sealeaf, what an incredible achievement!

We’re passionate about upskilling the bootcampers and young people who come through BOM, but we also know R&D time is important for our own team’s development.Our Immersive Trainer, Akshay, recently visited the historic @twickenhamstudios for a Virtual Production Operator workshop. Hosted in the @quitebrilliant Virtual Production stage (home to an impressive LED volume), VP expert Chris Bouchard led hands-on training in @assimilateinc Live FX.From virtual production to projection mapping, it was a packed afternoon in an incredible studio setting!

A look back at some of the highlights from last week!1. Our lovely bootcampers gifted our Immersive Trainer, Akshay some thank-you goodies after completing their bootcamp. Go team! 2. We love our new shiny holographic BOM stickers.3. Caroline, Winnie and Akshay attended the @wearecwx Expo and had a great time chatting away to new and old connections.3. The Immersive Team have started a badminton club! 4. Clodagh has been on holiday in Japan and brought us back some treats! The snacks did not last long…but we hope the good luck Daruma lasts long into the future.5. We think it’s already working its magic because we won the Immersive Impact Award at the CWX Expo! 1-2 @angela.grabowska
