May 14, 1975 marks 50 years since the last Hmong soldiers and families were evacuated from Long Chieng, Laos before it fell to Communist forces.
To be Hmong is to be free.

My first home in LA where I met most of my friends, learned to cook pho for a community, threw dance parties until 4am, hosted visitors from Minnesota to Laos, celebrated surprise birthdays and engagements, sat comfortably with my loneliness, waited for the sunrise on the roof, and fell in love with LA. Thanks to all those who made this studio feel like a home.
