I have a love hate relationship with ai. I’ve used it to make cool things it just isn’t something that ever feels like a real accomplishment. Using it to bring a design to life in different ways is really satisfying.

Okay here’s my last post with this 36 days of type project. This was a really rewarding challenge to work on. I think I came into and developed my own style quite a bit even with tight time constraints. It’s the most complete personal project I’ve ever put out and I’m kinda proud. Thank you all for the support and kind words, I feel like I’m actually contributing to the design community which means a lot to me. This project also led to me talking to some amazing artists that I really admire. Now I’m pumped to put more of my own stuff out.

Designing for myself is fun, I forget that sometimes. I’ve been refining this color separation process that makes this whole style possible. The title is a custom font I made for doron’s site.

I’ve been drawing a lot with my son now that he’s first getting into it. And it’s made me fall in love with the practice again. It’s been great to step away from the AI that is taking over so much of modern design work and just connect with a pencil and paper & embrace the human error.
I had this dumb idea a while back to promote my font and and it’s taken me this long to actually sit down and draw it. The most fun I’ve had creating in some time. & I’m trying to keep this account as my outlet for making what I want to make.

Honored to get to work with the 🐐@doronstudio on the logo/type for his crazy photoshop plugin Dithertone Pro. Fixed all the clunkiness of Adobe’s dithering & indexed color and makes it actually fun & straight forward to use all in one tool. Highly recommend.
I’m happy anytime I get to make a little angular dude & it’s just nice to see my work on things I like.

Huge thanks to @doronstudio for putting me on this. I’ve been a fan of since the early days so I jumped at the opportunity when he asked me to turn the custom type I made for my old nft poster into a functional fully functional typeface. & it’s been one of the most fun collabs.
JAK is a display typeface with 123 glyphs. With regular and bold weights and a sharp & round variation for both weights.
