My new studio is finally ready to share with you guys. There’s still a load of work ahead, but I feel like I’ve reached a checkpoint in the project so I’m gonna hang out here for a bit (aka: “he’s broke!!!”).
I love being able to move stuff around and make the space into whatever it needs to be for a project. I love being able to share the space with friends and have fun listening events on big boy PMCs. I love just chilling in here alone and getting the best results of my life so far. And I love my lil coffee bar (I even have a slow drip coffee maker my friends gifted me that takes twelve hours to make a cup of coffee).
I put this room together pretty much all by myself over the past six months, but I couldn’t have done it without my beautiful partner’s creative gifts @ktidman3 , and of course @gerhardwestphalen & @edselholden ’s collective acoustics knowledge. And heaps of credit card debt :)

Earlier this week we said goodbye to one of our best buds. Toulouse came into Kim’s life November 2018 when she found him in the cold outside her mother’s home in Indiana. He lived with her mom for several years before we met, but then came to live with me and Mimu in 2021. We united our tribe of cats in 2023 when we moved in together, and the numbers grew from three, to four, to five.
Toulouse was like an anchor to our home - he always slept in the same spots, reminded everyone precisely when it was time to eat, and he would watch guard dutifully on our catio to keep us safe. He was protective and loyal. He was also one of the sweetest souls I have ever met and showed us so much love.
We buried him in the back yard of our home and will plant a tree on top of his grave once it’s spring. If his body is decomposing in the earth I’d like for it to nourish the soil of something new. It will be nice to have something to remember him by. We wrote him letters that we read to him. We made him promises to take good care of ourselves and his siblings.
Goodbye Toulouse. I love you with my whole being. You will always be part of this family. It has been such a blessing to know you. ❤️
Rocco’s debut album “Skin & Bones” is a dream. So honored I got to help bring this one to the finish line with such an all star cast. While we finished these mixes there was snow in Tennessee and fires in California - but it was such a welcoming outlet to step into the peaceful atmosphere these boys painted. I got nothing but love for this album and team <3 GO LISTEN! :)
