This June solstice, welcome summer raised to the power of 4! Sunday, June 21, 2026, at 7 PM ET at Jordan Hall, @bmopmusic programs an invigorating evening of new orchestral works, presenting world and New England premieres through language, history, and tradition in Premiere⁴. John Aylward’s History of the World offers a triptych centered on how myth, art, and scientific discovery shape collective understanding. @avnerdormanmusic ’s five‑movement cello concerto, Inner Fire, traces fire’s physical and symbolic states. Written for @kristinareikocooper , the piece moves from the initial spark of “Invocation” through the intensity of “Ignition” and “Wildfire,” into the reflective calm of “Hearth.” Paul Moravec’s Miami Variations is a bright, fast‑moving orchestral portrait of the city’s energy. Built from a chain of vivid musical snapshots, the piece blends shimmering textures, rhythmic drive, and Moravec’s signature clarity. Bernard Rogers’s Symphony No. 5, “Africa”, stands as one of the composer’s most striking late works, a compact yet powerful symphonic statement shaped in two movements. The score moves between broad, open sonorities and tighter, more driven passages, creating a clear dramatic progression without relying on programmatic detail. Admission is free. BMOP has a new Instagram account, @BMOPsound . Some might wonder: “Gee, doesn’t BMOP already have IG at @bmopmusic ? Why not use that account?” Well, we would love to but… TLDR; there is a known @Instagram bug that has prevented BMOP from accessing its account for three months. The @BMOPmusic account is not the only IG account impacted by this bug. So, we’re creating a new account to use and dream of the day when the bug is resolved. What is the bug? When was it introduced? The bug is a multi-factor authentication (MFA) issue introduced to Instagram's backend around the end of July 2023 wherein the Boolean that governs MFA authentication can exist in a null state. When null, the IG MFA process currently chooses to interpret null as “true”. This creates an insurmountable MFA block for certain types of accounts. . What is being done about this bug? BMOP has been working with an engineer to report and try to get the bug resolved. There have been multiple telephone & support conversations on the matter. Meta engineers acknowledge the bug presence and its impact on accounts like @BMOPmusic . Until a fix is published to Instagram’s backend, the bug will persist. . Can I help BMOP regain access to @bmopmusic ? Thank you, it would be great if you could. Unless you’re a backend engineer working for Instagram with access to the bug queue, it’s not likely. As a fan of #BMOP’s concerts, premieres, & award-winning recordings, you could tag @meta & @instagram in comments, asking when the Instagram MFA bug will be fixed. . His awards and fellowships include those from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the Radcliffe Institute at Harvard University, the Koussevitzky Commission from the Library of Congress, the Fulbright Foundation, the DAAD (Berlin residency), the MacDowell Colony, and Tanglewood, among others.
