Born and raised amid the eclectic pulse of Hip-Hop, Funk, and Reggae in Geneva, Blaise Deville crafts sound as both memory and mutation. His journey led him eastward to Shanghai, where Blaise Deville became part of Uprooted Sunshine, one of China’s rare Dub and Dancehall collectives ̶ and later, a resident of the city’s now-mythical Shelter club. As one of the original members of the Sub-Culture events ̶ which would evolve into the influential SVBKVLT label ̶ Blaise Deville helped carve out an alternative sonic space within a rapidly transforming urban landscape.
Nowadays, Blaise Deville’s practice explores post-club experimentations ̶ rhythmic collisions, fragmented basslines, and emotional dissonance that blur the lines between global dance music and sonic art. Through the Construct mix series and performances from Zurich to Manila, Blaise Deville continues to investigate the shifting architectures of sound, space, and collective movement.
