🚨 4K EDITS OUT! 🚨 To thank all my 4K followers on Soundcloud (and the new ones), I'm releasing 4 new edits just in time for summer 🌞 It's been a long journey since I started, and I'm still trying to do things I love, at my scale, the most genuine way possible 🐇🐢. s/o to all the DJs, labels, clubs pushing my music forward. I started my club music journey around 2017/18 with edits. During the pandemic, I decided to focus more on production, aiming to craft something personal and share my own vision of club music. For a while, I even stopped playing edits in my sets, as a tribute to the original music makers of yesterday and today. I believed original music deserved to go as viral as edits often do. That said, edits partially brought me into this scene. They’re a big part of today’s club culture. With a touch of nostalgia, they can even help connect with crowds unfamiliar with your sound. From the streets of Caracas to dancefloors worldwide, his raw and vibrant sound blends tribal percussion, urban energy, and futuristic electronic pulses. Couvre x Chefs had the honor of hosting him for his first club show in France in October 2023 at Petit Bain (Paris) — a defining moment that marked the beginning of a lasting connection between the producer and our label. Two years later, this relationship comes full circle with the release of Pedro Le Dino, an explosive and organic EP, out now on Couvre x Chefs. With this project, DJ Babatr continues to push the boundaries of his sound, weaving Techno and Trance influences into the relentless rhythmic intensity that defines Raptor House, and asserting his unique vision of contemporary electronic music more than ever. Conceived as a true collaborative effort with Couvre x Chefs, the EP brings together four tracks from Babatr’s old-school repertoire — composed in 2004 and previously circulated only informally — which are being officially released for the very first time. To extend this dialogue, the tracks have been reworked by four artists affiliated with CxC, offering a renewed perspective on these foundational pieces. Featuring four original tracks and four remixes by @bjf.bjf , @ohgodscarlett , @teveagram , and @timkarbon , Pedro Le Dino stands as a vibrant testament to the ongoing artistic exchange between Caracas and the French electronic scene, while marking a new milestone in DJ Babatr’s ever-evolving trajectory. Back in August we were invited with @sylvere__ and @ohgodscarlett for a @couvrexchefs takeover night at @lesucrelyon Line up of friends, amazing staff, crowd on fire all night, plus I was in a good shape and mood, playing my fav tunes during a 2-hour closing set on a great soundsystem.
