We’re Blackberry Zine Collective, a collaborative out of Baltimore, Maryland. Didi Cook-Creek(@didiwaswrite ), Kennedy McDaniel(@blaccine ), and Momo Mullings (@blackzinearchive ) seek to interpret, preserve, and deliver Black press work by independent means. Together, we create and host workshops and community events centered in Black feminist thought and the storied tradition of self publishing in the Black community. To us as cultural workers, the blackberry represents the power of the individual within the group and the small acts of solidarity that connect us.
See y’all at Black Zine Fair 2026 for the third year in a row!

The zine library was absolutely honored to host zinester, archivist, writer Momo Mullings of the Black Zine Archive by way of Baltimore! Their talk demostrates their deep engagement with Black history and refusal to let the independent publishing work of Black writers and creatives be gatekept and erased out of zine history.
It was incredible to see all the intentionality of our students in hosting this day of celebrating Black independent publishing: our student curator Andee Gude, Destiny & the Black Student Union, as well as support from the Zine Library interns and VRC student workers. It is so exciting to launch the Black Zine Collection into the zine library.
What a fabulous way to jumpstart into Zine Fest season for the Reed community!!!
