Working on
@67bombstoenid has been many things: challenging, stress-inducing, rewarding — a dream. Many of you that I’m close with have been on the ride with us for four years hearing about this endeavor; and if you’ve done me the kindness of listening to me talk about it incessantly: I truly thank you.
This project came at a time in my career where the film industry and the world, for that matter, has been tested and met with unrest. And while many filmmakers have been forced to delay or shelve projects, we chipped away. The mission was too important.
It’s been the honor of a lifetime to find joy, resilience and peace in my personal life by observing the hearts of the Marshallese people. It means the world that they trusted us as to tell their story.
I couldn’t be more proud of my filmmaking partners on this:
@tymcmahan and
@kevinfordmedia . Without your guidance and patience, this project would have been much harder.
I’ve had the honor to put my name beside some of the greatest creatives both locally and across the world:
@vanessamckee ,
@josephjcash ,
@thecaststation ,
@generalludd_ ,
@its_me_jackson ,
@hisssnarl ,
@zaebopasca ,
@aaronnewberry ,
@eastonoliver_dp .
Finally, I’m so thankful for the encouragement and guidance from legendary filmmaker Errol Morris, and the cofidence given by his team at Alaz Films. Atilla Yücer and Kamen Velkovsky have been incredible.
We did the hard part: through adversary we made a movie. Now, we want everyone to see it starting with our world premiere at
@deadcenterfilm on June 12.
