Spring in St. Louis brought something special. 🇺🇸🎬 On April 30th more than 20 veterans working across film, television, music, digital media, production, and entertainment came together in St. Louis to help build momentum for a brand-new Veterans in Media & Entertainment chapter serving the Greater St. Louis area 🙌🧸 @vmeconnect From networking and collaboration to sharing resources and career connections, the room was filled with energy, purpose, and the kind of camaraderie only veterans can bring to this industry. We were honored to welcome industry leaders and partners, including representatives from the Missouri Film Office. Conversations centered on creating opportunities, strengthening the local production ecosystem, and building pathways for the next generation of veteran storytellers and creatives to connect and collaborate. @mofilmoffice This is more than just a networking group, it’s the beginning of a growing community powered by Veterans in Media & Entertainment, committed to lifting one another up and building a stronger future together for St. Louis and beyond 🫡 The future is bright as members shared ideas for veteran-focused panel discussions, expanding industry mentorship opportunities, and encouraging productions to leverage Missouri film tax incentives (Show MO Motion Media Tax Incentive) by hiring veterans and veteran creatives. This is only the beginning, St. Louis. #VeteransInMediaAndEntertainment #VME #StLouis #MOfilm #MissouriVeterans

Huge congratulations to Steven Crocker (@stevencrocker ) on the incredible success of his 2nd Annual Tee Off for Testicular Cancer Golf Tournament in Norfolk, Virginia! ⛳️ With the support of his amazing family, friends, his local and the testicular cancer community, our platinum sponsor Natera (@nateragenetics ), and many other generous partners, nearly $40,000 was raised this year, truly incredible! Shea, Director of Operations for TCAF, and I had just one day at home after the Check Your NADS March in Austin to unpack and repack before heading to the tournament. It was so inspiring to witness such strong support and we had such a FUN day!! 🏌️‍♀️😍 A huge thank you to everyone who traveled near and far to attend. And a special shoutout to our first place winner, a 40 year testicular cancer survivor! 🏆 I’m beyond grateful for Steven and his unwavering dedication to this mission, from the It Takes Balls Podcast, to The Ballroom, his monthly virtual meeting for patients and survivors, to What’s Wrong with Billy’s Balls, a children’s testicular cancer awareness book, to hosting these golf tournaments, serving on the board, and so much more. His impact is truly extraordinary! We’re also deeply thankful to Natera for hosting a beautiful dinner bringing together TCAF, physicians, and survivors. It was a very special evening. Last photo: BJ’s hotel room view featured a massive crane with a sign that said “Jordan.” 🙏🏻❤️ I am also incredibly grateful to BJ @bjcomedy for his advocacy and unwavering support for TCAF as well. A two time testicular cancer survivor and board member who plays a huge role at our events. See you at the Indy500 soon! With gratitude, Kim Jones Founder & CEO 🔗 /blog/15th-tee-off-for-testicular-cancer-raises-nearly-40000-in-norfolk

PSA: a popcorn mask does not protect against COVID-19 or anything else. But it does make a good snack for getting in one more view of our @disabilityfilmchallenge Film before the awareness campaign ends in a couple of hours. Grab an N95/KN95 for that other thing. 😷 #themoreyouknow🌈

This is why we rise up to the challenge. This sampling of comments from our community, from people living with Long COVID, from people feeling the solitude of carrying the weight of the pandemic on their shoulders, and from people who after 5 short minutes gained a new perspective is everything. Watch our @disabilityfilmchallenge in link in bio and let us know what you think!
