Had a lovely time at the @variety Hollywood Horror event. Saw so many people I love, didn’t take nearly as many photos as I should have, and got to listen to the always brilliant @samdzimmerman talk about the life-altering power of TALES FROM THE HOOD and CASTLE FREAK.
I love horror so much, but I love the people who love it even more. 🎃
She's finally here. @harmonycolangelo and I poured everything we have into this book.
Initially considered "just another slasher film" during its 1983 release, Sleepaway Camp has since emerged as a cult classic due to its talented young cast, remarkable practical effects, and notorious ending. But although the queer themes explored in its memorable final moments were initially intended to shock and unsettle audiences, Sleepaway Camp's empathetic portrayal of its unlikely killer sets it apart from other "trans panic" films of its time.
Together, Harmony and I assess where Sleepaway Camp falls in the slasher canon and did a deep dive on the film's themes and legacy, exploring how changing attitudes towards the LGBTQIA+ community has led to both a reclamation and necessary critique of the film by modern audiences.
Sleepaway Camp's divisive reputation has inspired a decades-long debate that changes alongside the attitudes and culture of its viewers. Through historical context, personal memoir, and film history, we explain what's kept audiences talking about Angela Baker and Camp Arawak after all these years.

I can’t stop thinking about Kevin Hamedani’s @thesaviorsfans . In honor of @markhellyweek , let’s talk about this fantastic sci-fi satire from @kevin.hamedani starring Adam Scott, Danielle Deadwyler, Theo Rossi, and Nazanin Boniadi. #movierecommendation #scifimovie #filmreels
“The purposefully uncomfortable comedy evokes Joe Dante’s cult classic, “The ‘Burbs,” but it’s the film’s final moments that push it well into “The Twilight Zone” for the modern age.
What makes “The Saviors” linger is its inevitability. The mindset that Hamedani and co-writer Travis Betz’s story examines has hardened and become more deeply embedded in everyday life. The film doesn’t just reflect that reality; it suggests we’ve learned very little from it.”
Thank you BJ Colangelo and Slashfilm!

“The truth is, Tristan, I am scared. Scared of this family falling apart.”
I love when my job allows me to attend discussions like the one as part of the @adultswim FYC event for Rick & Morty, Smiling Friends, PRIMAL, and HAHA, You Clowns. I never take enough photos, but the night was made even sweeter by getting to pose with the Campbells.
I once again didn’t take enough photos at the Overlook Film Festival and will be collecting like a magpie the ones my friends post over the next few days to share. 🥰
I was weirdly fascinated by the original FACES OF DEATH as a teenager, and I’m just as fascinated by the new @facesofdeathmovie from @independentfilmco . Keep your eyes peeled for my coverage, and do check it out in theaters on 4/10!
There will never be another performer like Liza Minnelli. We sang “Happy Birthday” to her as an audience and she sang “Love is Here to Stay” to us. I’m so, so grateful to have gotten to celebrate her. I love her so much. And I love that @harmonycolangelo loves her (and me) enough to take me to see her so I can cry four times in an hour.
