Had a lovely time at the @variety Hollywood Horror event. Saw so many people I love, didn’t take nearly as many photos as I should have, and got to listen to the always brilliant @samdzimmerman talk about the life-altering power of TALES FROM THE HOOD and CASTLE FREAK. I love horror so much, but I love the people who love it even more. 🎃

Last month @harmonycolangelo and I had the honor of speaking at the @academymuseum in honor of our beloved SLEEPAWAY CAMP as part of their SUMMER OF CAMP screening series. We've had so many people, including those who worked on the film, tell us that our analysis and contextualization of the film has made them view and appreciate the film in ways they never thought possible. She's finally here. @harmonycolangelo and I poured everything we have into this book. Initially considered "just another slasher film" during its 1983 release, Sleepaway Camp has since emerged as a cult classic due to its talented young cast, remarkable practical effects, and notorious ending. I never take enough photos, but the night was made even sweeter by getting to pose with the Campbells.

There will never be another performer like Liza Minnelli. We sang “Happy Birthday” to her as an audience and she sang “Love is Here to Stay” to us. I’m so, so grateful to have gotten to celebrate her. I love her so much. And I love that @harmonycolangelo loves her (and me) enough to take me to see her so I can cry four times in an hour.
