The beloved Sprigs make a very welcome retun to bison with their first LP 'For Red Riverbank', which will formally release later in June, but we will celebrate tonight at @spanners.club 🍻 'Everything seems asleep, and yet going all the time. In the cold damp earth below, Mole, Ratty and Badger are working away on new homes for Mole's uninvited guests. But Ratty picks up on terrible whispers from the Wild Wood Inn. Developers are making plans in the field above...and the landlords are up to no good...' Preorders on bandcamp in the bio now 🛶🍃🍺

Special session at The Stags Head in Hoxton to send Solderer off to Europe alert!! ⚠️ 📢 🚨 Organising a show for Solderer - the foursome of Ant Bedford, Kelly Bishop, @heinouswhiner & @fsvc____ making extraterrestrial anarcho-slump dirge from the Leeds weirdo hive mind. Saw them at Gobbings big takeover at OTO and couldn't help wanting to go again. They'll be supported by Junk Modelling - the double dad duo of @conal_blake and @ciaran_____m on two samplers - blitzing guitar and rhythm into curdled hardcore. I reckon we can get another group on the bill so feelers are out for another angle in the prism, please only apply if ur in a band, no solos allowed !! but for now save June 2nd for bisons first night out at The Stags. 🦬🦌🍻 @under_.the_world_is on the felt tips for this one 😇🎨

Out today - the new album from Cowboy Builder - COLD. Somewhere between Kurt Weill, Drainolith and Augustus Pablo, Cowboy Builder's signature wok clang and clatter has gotten slower and steadier over the years; more decayed and more delayed. COLD is bleak, industrial music for a time where ‘industry’ is working nightshifts for Amazon and drinking Lidl box wine. It seems to swerve nihilism and its hauntological cousins though, instead favouring relentless endurance, an embrace of disintegration and the joy of making tunes together. Listen on the link in bio. It's been a total pleasure working this one out with the gang. The CDs arrived yesterday and super chuffed with them - 6 panels with a booklet and all. Kieron's amp trolley fell apart on the way, but the band are set to play Cafe OTO tomorrow night (Saturday 4th April), alongside pals Handle and <3 Less Than Three, and Aiden is gonna play some records afterwards too. See yas there xx

video for FILM out now link in bio from the album COLD out 3/4 on @bisonrecs thnx to @jjjjjjjjjjjjjrrrrrrrrr for making the video + full concept from some napkin ramblings. when the song is near 8 mins with no conventional harmonic structure it's vv tall order song was written early 2020. never played it live till maybe 2022 for obvious reasons i like the end where the "cold" + harsh percussive elements speed up and dissociate from the "warm" harmonic elements, which stay at a steady pace as everything changes + accelerates around them

Very happy to say Cowboy Builder's new album COLD will land on bison early April. A long time in the making, COLD contains songs from some of the earliest days of the Builders, worked out in The Shunk I, filed through The Musty Shed and put down in The Shunk II. To celebrate, Manchester legends @handle.mcr and London's @lessthan3____ will make a triple-header bill at OTO on the 4th April, and the show is free for members. Tickets in the bio ⛓️ More info & we'll release FILM from the album next week but git yer preorders in for the CD now anyway, this ones a belter.

If you were at Counterflows this year you probably witnessed Ryan Wilkinson tearing up the Ferry with the help of @laurie_drums and Kyle over at @extranormalrecords . I'd seen Ryan before, he turned up at OTO once and screamed the place down, barefoot in a baseball jersey and left before I could really find out who he was, so I'm happy to have finally linked up to help him release his 3rd full lengther - PROTO GUILLOTINE HYPER IMPACT. ANGUSRAZEs music takes the aggression of hardcore and buggers it - a manic reimagining of violence in primary colour. Set in the world of Suzy (our coverstar), PROTO GUILLOTINE HYPER IMPACT is a comic, sugar rush saccharine celebration of expression, smashing together math rock, noise, Melt Banana and Midori to tell the story of our anti/hero ."Secede all meaning / Open your body / Your feelings come alive." It's worldbuilding pop punk via hardcore, Charli XCX meets Cobra Killer. It makes me want to type lyrics into my MSN handle, to bingewatch Perfect Blue and start a band. Instead, I've organised a gig for Ryan - we're at @spanners.club tonight to celebrate, joined by the don himself Dale Cornish and played out with a sure to be erratic DJ set (Bjork style) by myself and Ash Reid. Get down and grab a CD!

Reet then!!! If you haven't already heard, Ash Reid and I have decided to start/end a fantasy we have had for a long time about doing an evening dedicated to our shared love of the world's finest genre of electronic music, HAPPY HARDCORE which we have called COYOTE BADLY, to encourage bar dancing and the wearing of unacceptably low rise bootcut jeans. We are extremely pleased to announce that the inaugural event will make its debut THIS FRIDAY the 21st Nov at renowned South London hotspot @spanners.club from 8pm until 1am, and it would be truly fabulous to see you all there. COYOTE BADLY marks the occasion of the release of a brilliantly wild new record on bison - @angusraze 's new long player dubbed PROTO GUILLOTINE HYPER IMPACT. It's a speedrun thru a sequence of manic noise rock and erratic, moshable pop structures, with one foot in Post Hardcore and Experimentalism and one foot in the erratic mind of Charlie XCX - a truly ambitious, weird, racous record. On top of this, we're hyped to have the OG gobstopper @dale_cornish in the house. For the uninitiated, Cornish comes from the fruity abandon of noughties electroclash, birthed a millenia before Brat, arriving in tweedy experimental music in an apron and a pair of rubber gloves to take apart its edges. On a personal level, Dale Cornish's music tore a blowhole in the pressure tank of my working world of Caff OTO right when I needed it way back when I was sorta suffocating in amongst the importance of improv. It feels genuinely important to me that Angusraze sees Dale's work, and that Dale gets to air the tunes on his new record, Altruism. Tickets cost £10 in advance, or £12 for those who live on the edge and only pay on the door - follow the ticket link in the bio. If you can't afford a ticket for whatever reason, just come.
