Frills & Flannel Gender Affirming Clothing Swap: Fall Edition Sunday, September 28th 1pm-4pm @trimtabbrewing Warehouse All ages | Free Swap out clothes that don’t spark joy with clothes that fit your own vibe. Clothes and items aren’t grouped together by gender—just by size and type! Frills & Flannel is more than a clothing swap! It is an opportunity to connect and find solace in community with our queer & trans siblings and allies. In the midst of chaos, we refuse to give up hope and our joy. While the government is trying to shove our community back into the closet, Frills & Flannel is our way of saying we’re here, queer, and not going anywhere. The Frills & Flannel closet is filled with kindness, acceptance, and community care. How to swap: - bring in 5 items (clothes, accessories, costumes 🎃, affirming items, etc) and swap them for 5 items - Mingle, hangout, and play a few games with @plantcadia for a bit of fun - Checkout our B.A.S.S. Table to learn about narcan, emergency contraception, and community resources - Make some crafts at our free craft/kandi table (thx @bhamwubz ) Frills & Flannel is also a free thrift store! You’re not required to bring in items to receive clothes. At check in, tell us “Halloween” and we’ll give you tickets to exchange at checkout for free no questions asked! We’ve been a liiiitle behind on posting, but if you have anything special or more than 5 items you think would make a great fit for Frills & Flannel we’ll be at Trimtab Saturday from 1-4pm for donation drop off. VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED! We're looking for volunteers!!! Help is needed for B.A.S.S. tables, social media, education efforts, community outreach, promotion, and more. If you're interested, our volunteer form is in our linktree (in our bio) important !!! We are aiming to narrow down our 'board' in March so we can officially file for nonprofit status and be able to do more ~professional~ things. Nonprofit filing requires that we have a board and we're trying to keep this as grassroots as possible, so if you're on the leadership team you'll help run a committee, attend leadership meetings (once a month & virtual/hybrid), and collaborate with other people on the board to meet our goals. Just DM me (Allyssa @yolobinch or here or say hi whenever you see me at an event) if you're interested 😇

It takes a village to build safe spaces! ✨ We are in the stage of seeking out B.A.S.S. Buddies to help us out at Awakenus 2026! We need compassionate, proactive volunteers that value the community spaces we inhabit to help us and the @awakenus_festival team co-create another safe festival experience! B.A.S.S. Buddies help support the first aid volunteers and safety teams by being proactive and roaming the festival grounds, offering community care to those in need, and providing harm reduction resources for anybody who asks. ⛑️ Each B.A.S.S. Buddy shift is 2 hours long, and Buddies travel in pairs! Volunteering is a great opportunity to connect with the community, and make some new friends through interacting with other Awakenus attendees. @CripCampFilm is a story of how teens w/ disabilities became revolutionary activists and shaped a culture of love, pride and self-acceptance. Join B.A.S.S. for our screening to discuss their impact and how we, as a community, can do more to advocate for accessibility and support disabled lives. Tuesday July 29th 6-10pm Prescreening discussion starts at 6:30 Screening begins at 7pm Group discussion & workshop to follow screening Free! Open to all ages Screening Accessibility: We are currently working on getting assistive technology for live captions for the discussions. Captions and audio descriptions will be on during the movie. Please be mindful of strong scents as they can be bothersome to those with asthma and sensory sensitivity. We will have fidgets, notepads, nametags, and light refreshments! Signs will also be posted to direct you to the screening. Fat Stacks is back at @popupbarbham on Tuesday! Welcome @dezzyandretti_ back to the decks! Our favorite Birmingham beverage @laughing_lemonade will be with us giving out free samples all evening! We are also helping out @besafebham with their back to school supply drive! Please bring any school supplies you can to donate, it’s greatly appreciated to help alleviate the financial burden on our teachers and students in the Bham area! Fat Stack Tuesday is an open deck/DJ community night held in Birmingham where participants can tests WIPs, mixes, and sets out on Murda One Sound (a high fidelity Sound System). Performers are placed in front of the Sound System so they are able to get an accurate representation of their mix. (6) 30 minute open deck slots, followed by a 1hr spotlight artist set, DM @slinger.ent to reserve a slot! The primary focus of Fat Stack Tuesday is growth and development of performance skills and community. Always free to play and attend, you’re bound to find your new favorite DJ, make new friends, or even find new collaborators for your own music adventure! All DJs are required to play on the XDJ XZ provided. (Serato and Rekordbox laptop compatible, download the XDJ XZ driver from pioneers website to use laptop with XDJ XZ) PLEASE use high fidelity files, ie: wav/flac/aiff DJ’s are allowed to perform every other Fat Stack to save spaces for new/other DJs NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL PERMITTED. Pride month isn’t just about rainbows and parades. It’s a protest against the harassment, discrimination, and bigotry against queer and trans people. In 2025, the original purpose of Pride is strongly felt. While the government is trying to shove LGBTQ+ folks back into the closet, Frills & Flannel is our way of saying we’re here, queer, and not going anywhere. The Frills & Flannel closet is filled with kindness, acceptance, and community care. Beyond the swap, there will be: 🎶@smolbean.wav with some Lofi/chill tunes 🧵A kandi/craft table 🦺 FREE safety supplies and community resources And more!!! To participate in the swap, bring in a MAX of 10 items. We have plenty of warm weather clothing, so you don’t have to bring anything in to shop!!!
