Static in the forest. The Rift is quiet... 🌌 Awakenus 2026 was a masterclass in being the "in-between" for so many amazing experiences. I’m incredibly proud of the DJs I hosted at Portal Plaza—the first-time debuts, secret sets, and the raw energy of the open decks; not to mention that Late Night Snhacks set. But behind the scenes, I’m attempting to navigate an overwhelming creative withdrawal. I wanted FEEL TRIP to be the cathartic release of months of built-up emotional energy. Instead, that energy feels like it’s seeping into a vacuum—a gravity well I can’t escape. I feel a crushing obligation to serve this community when I can no longer serve myself. I’ve always been shy about the work behind a FEEL TRIP set. Selecting 40+ tracks for the perfect emotional flow, programming the lights for every single one, and syncing custom laser shows...but it’s too much. I build these shows because I want to experience them as an attendee—that’s my biggest dream. But this weekend made me realize that dream might never come to fruition. Instead of a synesthetic release, my primary memory is the trauma of thinking: "This is the last show I’ll ever do because it’s all going to break in the rain." I spent this huge moment of my life battening down hatches in the middle of a midnight shower, praying the water wouldn't claim my entire existence. There is no resolution I can see. My GoPro failed spectacularly right when I needed it. I have no footage to see how I did—no data to process the preparations I made. I am left only with the memory of wiping the decks dry while the clouds poured down. I can’t deal with that in a healthy way right now. So, FEEL TRIP comes to an end for now. For a month, a year—I don't know. I hope these emotions blow over like the shower did, but I feel the universe telling me to stop, and I need to listen. Thank you to everyone who helped me this past weekend. Portal Plaza would have failed explosively without you. I’ll post a proper recap on @modernmusicet eventually. See y’all again soon. — JAMURAI

Awakenus 2026! Wow. What a festival. At the original Awakenus, I made my first festival DJ debut and got to run lasers at the main stage. This year, I guess things leveled up... It felt crazy holding so much responsibility, being a proud member of the Awakenus Committee and running a stage alongside @blackmountainsound & @mellowmellon.music . What do you MEAN people trust my vision and event knowledge? 🤯 But I truly feel honored to have shared this experience with so many great people. @astralyogi kept us on track... @alexisannunger helped us make the numbers work... @an_absolute_gem gave us the blueprint.... Not to mention the other members of the Committee who provided valuable insight and contributions, each in their own special way. 🫶 I also HAVE to thank @snhackmix . He's the man, always and forever. While I was sitting up in the control room running FEEL TRIP(panicking the whole way through) this guy is trying to save my equipment and keep it dry as I attempt to keep it together. I literally could have never done it without him. Late Night Snhacks was excellent(despite a few technical difficulties on my side) and this thoughtful collaboration between the two of us was the very least I could have done to show my appreciation for him. I am very lucky to have Kevin as a great teammate and great friend. That brings me to @yolobinch ... My amazing partner. 🥰 Allyssa was the one person keeping me afloat when I was struggling with stress before the fest.... Allyssa kept supporting me completely even when things were tough and I felt like I didn't deserve it. Allyssa's work with @besafebham made me feel good about the safety and security of everybody at Bohamia- we were all in great hands. Being the first to arrive at @land_of_bohamia to prepare for Awakenus I had lots of questions. "Can I do this? Will Portal Plaza make it? DO I HAVE A GOOD ENOUGH RAIN PLAN?!(lol)" But traversing throughout the festival when I could, and seeing all the happy faces everywhere, ugh. This is what I want to do. Bring folks together for a bunch of experiences; a lifetimes worth of art, all crammed into a weekend where we just don't have enough time to see it all. continued ⬇️

The Rift is about to open... Are you prepared? Here is the schedule for The Rift at Awakenus YALL 2026! The Rift is the stage design for Portal Plaza that I have been refining and programming over the last few months. We've got some great DJs on the lineup for Portal Plaza and we're super excited to see everybody there! Make sure to catch the FEEL TRIP laser & light DJ set! @jamurai_ will be running his custom laser and light shows and DJing at the same time, maintaining a level of synchronicity at a scale never before seen at Bohamia! Additionally, we will have open deck slots available on Friday and Saturday. Daily signups will be available nearby The Rift for DJs wanting to play some tunes. We'll see y'all there!

🔥🔥🔥It really does seem fitting that my comeback to my fire after breaking my ankle in September was on a BEAUTIFUL November night, made better by the fact that two good friends @jamurai_ and @not5amous were the ones on the decks. Birmingham! I'm excited to announce the return of @jamurai_ and the premiere of @not5amous at the Avondale Fire Jam!
