‘Love, that fastens on the gentle heart, Love, that excuses no one loved from loving, led us together to one death. One day, for pleasure, we were reading of Lancelot, how love had seized him; we were alone and innocent of suspicion. The book, and he who wrote it, was our go-between; that day we read no further.’

Clouds Still Know Our Names
Choreographed by @davidedgiovanni
From the studio to the stage,
from rehearsal rooms to the car park.
Light, smoke, clouds.
Sound, voice, noise.
Last week, the show finally happened.
Emotions were high, and sharing the visions we’ve been holding together,
bringing them alive through the bodies, voices, and souls of our collaborators was a dream come true.

We can’t thank enough the audience and supporters of NON who believe in the beauty of dance.
What we express with our bodies, voices, and souls is unlimited,
and we look forward to sharing more with you in the future.
Thank you for being there. Thank you for believing.
Special thank to our board @guy_hastie , @bernadette_bblanc , @evh.agency and @evh1 for making this happened

We’re finally in the car park, rehearsing for Clouds Still Know Our Names.
This space brings another level to the choreography, raw, open, unforgiving.
Concrete, echoes, air. It pushes the movement somewhere more honest.
There’s something brutal here, and somehow deeply beautiful.
The clash between hardness and tenderness is shaping the dance in ways we didn’t expect, but needed.
The clouds above. The ground beneath.
We keep moving.
Thank you @benrends@chloeleong_@davidedgiovanni@tiana.lara.hogan@mitchriley.opera.theatre and Rob for being open and create something magical.

I’ve mainly used this platform as a way to share moments that have brought pockets of light in my life. Rarely do I share things that feel vulnerable or let people in in such a way.. I’m challenging that now as I share that undiagnosed depression has been a constant in my life. I feel driven to share now, in these times that feel overwhelmingly sad with what we’re constantly consuming everyday. We’re aware on a daily basis that there’s so much pain and suffering in the world and it feels hard to always see the humanity that surrounds us. Depression has been many faces in my life and in what I sometimes choose to use as a paintbrush in my work. The voyeurism of looking into another human’s challenges as they navigate a world that feels too big sometimes.
The constant battling of habits and the resurfacing after periods of submersion, be them however short or long, is something I believe all humans to face in one way or another. We think differently, we see differently. We look for ways to connect and communicate through our own ways of understanding, but we all crave to connect with our communities.
I feel incredibly blessed to have had dance as a way of navigating through tangled emotions, but more important than dance are the people I’ve found in this life. Broken people, anxious lovers, curious optimists, neglected romantics, plagued poets.. People who navigate through their own journeys and show me the light on my own path. They inspire me. They humanize me. They’ve been my safe spaces, my shoulders, my homes. This is a love letter to everyone to hold out for those pockets of light. Lean into your friendships. Know that wherever you find yourself and however big things feel, people have been inspired by your journey. They care for you. Things stop feeling so big when we can communicate about them with the people that hold such spaces.
My heart is holding space for you.
