Shooting Cora Corré was an incredibly humbling experience. She has the type of energy that steals the room without ever demanding attention. Effortless in ways people only dream of. Cora has a deep, natural empathy for everyone, especially on our shoot day. That was admirable and also quietly contagious. The whole crew lifted around her without anyone quite knowing why. Burnout is easy. Overcoming it is hard. Jessica Roimata Clarke grew up barefoot in Palmy, talking to a pet sheep called Loris. By 18 she was the first New Zealander on the Victoria’s Secret runway. At 25 the light flickered out. In 2020 she got stuck at the end of the world with one suitcase. Her best friend flew in on one of the last flights, half a suitcase full of mushrooms. In a fashion world that feels mid-collapse, we chose to build something that celebrates the people still trying to push humanity, joy and love into the world. I’m beyond humbled to be co-owner and Editor-in-Chief. And here she is. My first cover. Cora Corré. Wearing Moschino. Cora, I couldn’t be more honoured to have you as the first. Your spirit is undeniable. Watching you step into the world as the charitable powerhouse you’re becoming is a privilege.
