This project was made from a small marble offcut. I designed a cnc LED housing to shine light on the cut surfaces and celebrate the production process.

Spent ages wondering if it’s the dumbest or best thing ever.. I like it in a way that Castiglioni and the Italian designers of old gave objects personality and movement without over designing. But also maybe it’s just a bit of wood with a bulb in. . Jeez design is ethereally fragile. #lightingdesign #prototype #exhibition

I feel like the form on the underside is the best bit. It’s the most sculptural. Reminds me of traffic islands with thin lines and scolloped transitions into thicker edges. “Then pick it up .. make it look natural” they said.
