Also thrilled to learn we’ve been nominated for several awards at the event, including the BFF Bull Award & Best Short Film.

As another year draws to a close, I thought “it’s about time I did a showreel for myself!”
Compiling of all my shorts under @_mirrormedia thus far as Writer/Director from 2021 to now.
As Terry Gilliam once advised Quentin Tarantino “your job is to hire talented people…” and I’ve been very fortunate to work with some incredibly talented people who’ve contributed massively to all these projects and to them I say thank you.
Onto 2024- More of the same! 🎥
2 years ago, at the end of the final Covid lockdown me and a couple other first time filmmakers I met on our filmmaking course decided to go out “and just make a film”… as easy as that!
If only we’d have foreseen that making a period drama set during the Troubles in 1979 with authentic props and costumes and unpredictable weather conditions would be… a little challenging.
But thanks to a great team, support from @oceanstorm_films and two outstanding performances by @darrentassell@joshhands1 we managed to pull off what should’ve been impossible for first time filmmakers.
I’m now happy to say, after a successful festival run with a few award wins and nominations, that Blue Skies is now available on @vshowcards Film City platform, link in my bio.
By no means is this a perfect film, but I believe it’s a great example of what can be done with little resources, generosity and a never say die attitude.

What a year it’s been!
