Listening is not just a function of the ear but a broader mental state of awareness and attention. The binaural video Spiral Fluctuations draws on recordings of functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). Using this medical diagnostic technology as a source, the artist translates elements of its acoustic and electromagnetic activity into a spatial sound experience that can be felt physically as well as heard. Rather than presenting the body as a set of neutral responses, the work invites emotional and sensory engagement. Sound appears here not only through the ear but through vibrations across the body or pulses of light, suggesting other ways of perceiving it, including people with hearing impairments. The work is shown in the Sonic Body section of the exhibition together with Kama La Mackerel @kamalamackerel , Judit Kele, and Irena Z. Tomažin @irenaztomazin .

🎧 We traditionally open the new Modul@rnice season within the MENT festival programme, which starts in less than a week! This is our magical ✴ 7th collaboration ✴, so we decided to make it a bit more special, open and louder! → Join us at Vodnikova domačija between February 18–20 for a three-day mixture of sound experiences, open discussion and hands-on workshops. 🦋 The programme was a team effort between several artists and organisers and focuses on providing a stimulating and safe environment for music production and knowledge exchange, while highlighting the importance of accessibility to creative tools, giving visibility to overlooked voices, and encouraging the building of communities that transcend social and cultural boundaries. 🔌 Our first Modul@rnice x MENT attempt happened in 2020 with Synth Library Prague & Mary C, who are returning this year for more synth and electronic music exploration. Kamizdat is proud to present 3rd album by excellent @beepblip BEEPBLIP: RHYTHMAGOGIA (KAM078)  digital Rhythmagogia is an invented term, combining ρυθμός rhythmos- “any regular recurring motion or symmetry” and αγωγός -agōgos, meaning “conducting or leading”. The album begins with slow explorations of rhythm. Random distributions of pulse and noise set the stage for a journey into the hidden geometries of growth. Like roots testing soil or tendrils searching for a grip, these sequences open pathways into the overlooked logics of vegetal life. Through adaptive transformation, the album mirrors the way plants adjust, modifying their patterns in response to subtle changes in their environment. Every beat becomes a negotiation with constraint; every pause, a reminder that survival is less about domination than about circulation and balance. The compositions grow through iteration: repeating yet never the same. As motifs gather density, they begin to diffuse like pollen or seeds across invisible networks. Rhythms teach us, conduct us, lead us toward another mode of listening. In this space, the seeming randomness of organic patterns reveals itself as memory, strategy, and quiet intelligence.
