starting your own night isn’t for the weak 🙃
what started as “let’s throw a party” turned into something way bigger. when me, Meral and Steph started
@frei.dance two years ago, we wanted to push beyond what nightlife was offering, and doing something new is hard. finding a space, building a community, funding it, figuring out what we were reaching for.
it’s been messy, unpredictable, and a lot harder than we expected. especially in a scene where everything feels fragile and last minute (massive respect to bookers and promoters out here trying to build something meaningful.)
but somehow, we did. slowly, intentionally, with care, now we’re heading into our fifth edition. and the only reason it works is you: the people who show up, play, dance, and believe in it.
to the dancers, the DJs, the community, thank you. this really is for you. FEMME+ / FLINTA folks deserve space to take up the room properly.
