What a day 🥹 The biggest thank you to my wonderful artists, to those who have been with @beaueventsbrighton from the start, and to those lovely new faces I had the pleasure of hosting today. Thank you for spending your Sunday making this such a beautiful day, @beaueventsbrighton at @caravanseraibrighton has never been done before, your belief in my events has been overwhelming, and I am truly appreciative of every single one of you for showing up and making it what it was. New ventures can be tricky to settle in to but we made it the best and executed it with style, grace and good vibes. A huge thank you to my right hand women for the day @lulumcqueenjewellery to my @flyingcircusartfair partner @bobbydazzlerprints to @tarotintechnicolor and @sarahsdollparts for your quick run around end of day, to the amazing @caravanseraibrighton team and Holly for creating such a comfortable and welcoming environment for us all. “Finding your centre is coming home to yourself” Thanks to some incredible people, new and known, @sussexartfair is one of my favourite weekends of the year so far. I have made connections that will stick around for good, there was no such thing as small talk, we jumped right in, head first and clicked, that’s what it feels like when you surround yourself with exceptional creative flare. When you look closely, we are really very interesting people, with huge hearts, messy minds and a bravery to be vulnerable in sharing our practice. Being surrounded by so many beautifully talented, quick witted and inspirational artists, lights a spark in me that I can’t quite put into words, the togetherness and support is pure magic. To the people who stopped and took the time to understand my work, sharing mind blowing compliments and walking away with pieces to call their own, thank you. Networking, friendships and new opportunities as a result of this weekend = immeasurable. Hopefully I will be able to share more on that soon! Who’d have guessed it 🤪 If you’d have asked me 2 years ago where I would be exhibiting @beaubottletops .. never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined being accepted into some of the UK’s top art fairs, let alone running one! The brilliant @bobbydazzlerprints and I (@beaueventsbrighton ) are working our 🍑’s off to execute this mammoth show in style, with hundreds of incredible artworks from Sussex and beyond, the first show of its kind in Brighton, @flyingcircusartfair smack bang in the middle of @brightonfringe festival in the heart of our city center. Welcome ‘Kreisel’ 🪼 Kreisel is the specific name for a Jelly Fish Tank (I love learning these fun facts when naming my artworks), it is German for merry-go-round. These specialised tanks are designed with rounded corners to create gentle, consistent water flow and protect the jelly’s from getting stuck in corners or injured by filters. This Jelly is housed within an oval vintage frame, and explores the ‘unfinished room’ theory. All of the people in your life build a ‘room’ inside you, some decorate that room, some leave mid re-model, with mess everywhere. Even when they leave, the room stays and it quietly affects how you love, grow, attach, trust…but ultimately, you decide what stays and what doesn’t, it’s still your house. It always was. We are constantly striving for perfection, performing, seeking validation, it’s been conditioned within some of us to always please others even at the detriment to ourselves. My brain is all over the place at the minute, from putting pens into compost bins, keys in the fridge, and most embarrassingly trying to get into a strangers car 😂 maybe I need to remember, I am only human. Do I always practice what I preach? Absolutely not, but I am challenging the wiring of my brain, and where I sit on the ‘important things to take care of’ scale, yes. Do I always get it right? Categorically no. But it’s about consistency, practising kinder self talk, and celebrating little confidence wins. This piece will be a marmite piece for sure, I am expecting lovers and haters and I’m totally ok with that. What would you call this artwork? What does this make you challenge within yourself? I’m all over the place this year with BeauBottletops. It’s quite unbelievable really, I often find myself second guessing opportunities because I think there must be a catch… But mostly, I am just really, super grateful for the people who can see the potential in the worlds I create within my quirky little practice of recycled bottletops. I was doing some sums the other day, I reckon I am close to saving 1 million bottletops from our beaches and landfill, how mad is that! Artworks will be showcased far and wide in 2026, including (potentially) internationally, but I don’t want to get ahead of myself, and I’ll be very excited to share more with you when I can. ‘The Echo of You’ “If you want something to last forever, you treat it differently. You shield it you protect it you don’t mistreat it, you don’t expose it to the elements, you don’t make it common or ordinary, if it ever becomes tarnished, lovingly polish it until it gleams like new.” Some things in life don’t last forever, but a few things do, the impact you leave, the love you give, the way you make people feel. Time passes, moments fade, but memories stay, the energy you give to the world stays, be kind, be real, be meaningful. Exploring the big things, like love, loss, worthiness, self compassion, empathy and so much more through art. Necessary.
