🧘🏼♂️“Lonely Road” talks a lot about parts of my personal journey. I spent most of my life surrounded by friends, and still am - I’m also surrounded by a family for which I am very grateful.
This may look positive, and most of it is, but for a developing individual lacking discipline and mental fortitude, being involved in too many people’s personal lives can also pose problems like complacency or exaggerated selflessness ( to the point of it being unhealthy; developing a tendency to please and always putting others before you ). The ones you extend your hand to may also choose to bite it, mistaking friendship for a stage on which they’re comfortable exhibiting entitlement. There might also be dependence on others for ‘’love’’ you think you deserve. The pain of grief from losing certain friendships or family members can also cause one to spiral negatively.
Becoming aware of this, I chose to isolate myself many times throughout my life - knowing that some things are to be dealt with by the self, for the self. In no way do I endorse total isolation - but learning to love yourself and knowing what path you TRULY want to walk takes knowing yourself, and, in my opinion, that requires you to sit, think and live by yourself for yourself.
‘Lonely Road’ is pretty much a tribute to all my life up till now, the values I have taught myself, and the life I unapologetically choose every day. 💪🏼
I also wanted to show off the beauty of my birthplace, Malta, through this video - where I lived pretty much all my life so far. Things here are far from perfect, and it is my love for this place that makes me flip at the greed and ignorance with regards to how it is treated, especially by those who promise to serve it.

A little more than three years ago I decided to take a leap - and so I left an extremely burdening office job to pursue my musical career.
I remember my first sessions as a music producer & recording engineer at @aisoproductions very clearly. A few weeks in, I was already feeling at home - The artists I was meeting and working with, and my business partner - @alias1live , were like bellows to the flames; a realization that I had fixed my trajectory into a more favorable one. I was so driven, that every minute of my time was seen as an opportunity to improve and learn more skills.
This kicked off freelancing for me, and along the way, Aidan approached me with the idea of starting up AISO Academy.
Being AISO Academy’s director gives me a lot of pride. Growing up as a musician and aspiring music producer in my teens was not easy - facing discouragement from a lot of people and even the educational infrastructure made it hard to pursue music as a career. Working at the Academy gives me a chance to change that.
At AISO Academy, we are doing all we can to educate and make understood that music, ( apart from being a tool of expression and communication; a language ) is in fact a viable career path.
Apart from developing and teaching courses we also carry out projects in schools and with marginalized communities to teach the cultural importance and value of this artform and the many different career paths available to one in the industry. We’ve carried out projects with Erasmus students, wherein we facilitated connections and encouraged collaboration. AISO Academy has connected with a lot of international organizations and individuals during projects, events and conferences, stretching its network beyond Maltese and even European borders.
I’ve always felt like music has been a bridge to community and the sentiment strengthens every day. In addition to directing AISO Academy - I’m of course still producing and DJing as CLEIGH - playing guitar with @kodin.hill & @thepressedpills - and handling the decks with @d.e.m.141 .
Life is very busy. But when you're doing what you love - would you have it any other way ?
