ARTIST ANNOUNCEMENT: Helen Adilia Arceyut-Frixione As a Nicaraguan ceramic artist based in Montreal, Canada, Helen Adilia Arceyut-Frixione’s work is rooted in her experiences of identity and transience. Through her artistic practice, Helen contemplates the intersection between her cultural heritage and the multiple identities she has come to inhabit. She builds using various techniques: hand-built coils and slabs and thrown elements. Her large-scale pieces echo profiles of Mesoamerican and pre-colonial vessels and interpret themes that surrounded her as a child. Clay's elastic yet unforgiving nature allows her to investigate the power of memory, the significance of her cultural symbols, and the interplay of color, texture, and form. Check out her work at Galerie Erga in Rework Traditions: Opening: July 20th 5pm-9pm You can find her here: @harcey ANNONCE D'ARTISTE : Helen Adilia Arceyut-Frixione En tant qu'artiste cĂ©ramiste nicaraguayenne basĂ©e Ă  MontrĂ©al, Canada, le travail de Helen Adilia Arceyut-Frixione est enracinĂ© dans ses expĂ©riences d'identitĂ© et de transience. ARTIST ANNOUNCEMENT: Stephanie Flowers Stephanie Flowers is a visual artist working in porcelain to create sculptural installations and works of art. Her work is inspired by biology, anatomy, science fiction, and natural history. The material process of making informs Flowers’ work. Through the characteristics of porcelain, she explores parallels between the human body and biology - it’s fragility, strength, and plasticity. Her work is influenced by natural structures, invoking these with bone, floral, leaf and fungal-like shapes. By blending these intricate, paper-thin shapes into a network of forms, she explores the complexity and delicateness of life, balanced somewhere between the familiar and surreal.  Her work is also currently on exhibit in the Gaetan Beaudin Gallery, as part of the 34th annual 1001 Pots Exhibition in Val David, Quebec. Check out her work at Galerie Erga in Rework Traditions: Opening: July 20th 5pm-9pm You can find her here: @stephanieaflowers ————————————————— Stephanie Flowers est une artiste visuelle travaillant la porcelaine pour crĂ©er installations sculpturales et Ɠuvres d'art. ( Le Français suivra) Hea R. Kim, a multidisciplinary artist, articulates a dream world where mythological, spiritual and illusory mindscapes intermingle. Drawing inspiration from her childhood and diasporic experiences, South Korean cultural heritage and literary references, Kim thoughtfully meshes the fantastical with the mundane, the heroic with the cute, and the bubbliness of popular culture with deeper social concerns. Engaging the philosophical limits of both craft and art, as well as reality and fantasy, Kim intentionally stretches established boundaries, bringing subversive notions into sustained harmony. Check out her work at GALERIE ERGA at the Vernissage for Rework Traditions on July 20th from 5pm-9pm. The exhibition will be open to the public from July 19th to July 30th. You can find her here: @hea_creative Hea R. Kim, une artiste multidisciplinaire, donne forme Ă  un monde onirique oĂč se mĂȘlent mythologies, spiritualitĂ©s et paysages mentaux illusoires. Delighted to present LYSANNE LAROSE as an artist in ‘Rework Traditions’ As self-taught emerging ceramicist, Lysanne is currently building two bodies of work. She creates sculptures blending magical realism with post-industrial art, and explores evocative forms inspired by glacial erratics to create a series of large sculptures destined for installation. Her intention is never to perfectly replicate these objects, but rather to offer up an informed and inspired interpretation through her material explorations. She writes for Ceramics Monthly. Lysanne recently showcased her works alongside sculptor Pierre Klein in a duo show at Galerie POP! in Montreal in May 2023. She can be reached on Instagram at @LatelierLarose . Check out her work in “Rework Traditions" showing at Galerie Erga , open July 19th to July 30th. —————————————- Lysanne Larose, cĂ©ramiste autodidacte Ă©mergente, est actuellement en train de crĂ©er deux sĂ©ries d'Ɠuvres.
