When Bex and I met (a little shy of a decade ago) she truly changed my life. I had moved to Baltimore having just left a heavily abusive kink-based relationship. I had next to nothing. We barely even really knew each other and she was immediately there for me. She (and her partner, @dwlphoto who has also been there for me constantly since meeting) dragged me out of the house to my first rope/play party ever.
She welcomed me into her world and taught me about bottoming and rope and so much more. She gave me community and a feeling of “home” and safety when I had none. She showed me how kink - and people in it - could be good. She showed me how beautiful it could be to be vulnerable. How some people were worth trusting again. I don’t know what I did to deserve her love and care, but she gave it without question. I don’t know if I ever thanked her for all the ways she showed up for me. I don’t know if she ever realized how much she did for those around her. How many lives she changed. I hope she knew how special she was.

Fun fact: @castle.jackal has an average body temperature of around 120 F. That’s why he’s able to wear a t-shirt out in the frozen Antarctic tundra. You think he would be wearing one of the Outpost 31 shirts mentioned in this video, but that would be like wearing the bands t-shirt to the concert - which for some reason is societally frowned upon.
