We’re straying off the Stephen King path a bit this week, but don’t worry. We’re not going far. Our new episode features a lengthy discussion about Joe Hill’s King Sorrow, an epic tale of evil dragons, spooky artifacts, and the lengths we go to protect the ones we love. Writer @jerslater (Mortal Kombat II, Moon Knight) is our guest and talks through our favorite characters, sequences, and the many nods Hill includes to his writer family. Available now wherever you get your podcasts!

Wil Wheaton (@itswilwheaton ) returns to The Kingcast to talk about his new audiobook narration of @stephenking 's The Body, the 40th Anniversary of Stand By Me, and the impact the late, great Rob Reiner had on his life. Fair warning: this one gets emotional right out of the gate. You can listen to the full episode wherever you get your podcasts and make sure to stay tuned after the interview for an exclusive 8 minute segment of Wil's reading of The Body, courtesy of @simon.audio . Episode 7 of IT: WELCOME TO DERRY aired last night and Eric and Anthony (hosts of @kingcastpod ) are here to unpack every twisted detail and signature Stephen King easter egg you might have missed in this episode. Share your thoughts in the comments. "Turns out a lot of darkness hid behind some pleasant words and friendly smiles. I guess that’s true of real life, so good on Jason Fuchs and the Muschiettis for throwing some nuance into their murder clown show. This penultimate episode, titled The Black Spot, starts off in 1908 where a familiar pasty white face pops up. That’s right, we get to know Mr. Bob Gray a little bit and we see why It coveted the Pennywise form, which is big for us die hard fans of Stephen King’s book." - @ericvespe Get the full episode (video or audio) at our link in bio.

It’s another week so that means we have another episode of IT: WELCOME TO DERRY up for discussion. Hot on the heels of last week’s first peek at everybody’s favorite dancing clown comes an episode… well, without any Pennywise at all, really. But we do get a super gnarly freak out that will burrow under the skin of most viewers, especially if they have trouble with depictions of eye trauma. Check out this clip exploring more of the Dick Hallorann back story and find the full episode at our link in bio.

This week's episode of WATCHING IT: WELCOME TO DERRY with Eric Vespe and Anthony Breznican of The Kingcast is now streaming at our Link In Bio! Share your thoughts in the comments! "Episode 3’s title, "Now You See It", is made literal in a few different ways this episode. We the audience get our first glimpse at It’s favorite form, Pennywise, this episode and so do a few of our beloved characters. This isn’t full on Bill Skarsgard chewing up scenery yet, but we do psychically delve into It’s lair, hear It question a particularly befuddled future haunted hotel chef, and catch a glimpse of the clown in the finale. Matter of fact, the episode is bookmarked by glimpses of the familiar clown design as the opening flashback establishes just where It might have lifted its most popular look. You get director cameos, some explanation of why the Air Force is looking for this potential weapon in the woods of rural Maine, hints at the agents of the White that are working to counter the evil of It, and some of the worst effects of the series as things get a little GOOSEBUMPS for the episode’s finale." -Eric Vespe

Pennywise returns and Fango's preeminent Stephen King voices in podcasting are WATCHING IT: WELCOME TO DERRY! Join Anthony Breznican and Eric Vespe (Yes, the noble podfellows of The Kingcast @thekingcastpod ) as each episode rolls out week to week, digging deeper into It's backstory as King's bizarre evil terrorizes a different set of kids over decades before the events of the recent It films. From the creators of IT: CHAPTERs 1 and 2 and starring Jovan Adepo, Clara Stack, Amanda Christine, Chris Chalk, James Remar, and, of course, Bill Skarsgard, season 1 of IT: WELCOME TO DERRY promises to expand on the historical horror hinted at in King's novel. Vespe and Breznican will be there for all eight episodes to give their opinions, critiques, and nerd out whenever appropriate as Andy Muschietti's expansion of the lore established in Stephen King's masterpiece novel plays out. Want to make sure you caught all the easter eggs in each episode? Are you curious where the story hues closer to the original text and where it drastically departs? Do you wish to be lulled into a zen-like state of meditative bliss as the dulcet tones of two professional podcast nerds excitedly discuss killer clowns, terrified children, and the underlying rot of racism and bigotry in small town 1960s America? If the answer is yes to any of these questions then you're in the right place. Link in bio. Watch on Youtube or listen wherever you find The Kingcast.
