Coming soon: a new 4K release of Joe Dante’s The Burbs, one of my late ‘80s favorites. I had the pleasure of joining @drewmcweeny on a commentary track for it where we dive into the fascinatingly odd production history and some neat Easter eggs peppered throughout.

Before Jaws taught us to fear the ocean, Duel taught us to fear the highway. This week on Movie of the Year: 1971, we break down Duel—Steven Spielberg’s made-for-TV debut that somehow feels more cinematic than most theatrical releases of its era. One man. One truck. Endless tension. We dig into how Spielberg builds suspense through movement, how masculinity crumbles under pressure, and why America’s open roads feel more terrifying than freeing. Plus, we’re joined by film journalist @EricVespe to talk Spielberg’s early genius and why Duel still hits like a freight train. Full episode out now. Just don’t tailgate. #MovieOfTheYear #Duel #StevenSpielberg #FilmPodcast #Podcast

Episode 7 of IT: WELCOME TO DERRY aired last night and Eric and Anthony (hosts of @kingcastpod ) are here to unpack every twisted detail and signature Stephen King easter egg you might have missed in this episode. Share your thoughts in the comments. "Turns out a lot of darkness hid behind some pleasant words and friendly smiles. I guess that’s true of real life, so good on Jason Fuchs and the Muschiettis for throwing some nuance into their murder clown show. This penultimate episode, titled The Black Spot, starts off in 1908 where a familiar pasty white face pops up. That’s right, we get to know Mr. Bob Gray a little bit and we see why It coveted the Pennywise form, which is big for us die hard fans of Stephen King’s book." - @ericvespe Get the full episode (video or audio) at our link in bio.

Spotted the biggest celebrity in Japan on the final night of our honeymoon. Hope it wasn’t rude to take a video of him.

Our first trip together as a couple was to an amusement park. I proposed at an amusement park. We got married at an amusement park (or pretty damn close). We’re currently at park 2 of 3 for the honeymoon. Feet are tired, but we’re having a blast. On to Tokyo Disney Sea!

It’s such a shame that American Universal Parks all but obliterated Jaws from their parks. It’s so cool seeing Amity thriving at Universal Japan. Getting in a boat to visit the big boy soon.

Gore Verbinski finally returns with Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die, a madcap adventure that feels so refreshing in this moment where most of our movie options seem dictated by a faceless board of execs. Read @ericvespe 's review from the @fantastic.fest world premiere at the link in bio.
